New Goodies & Inspriation Challenge #165

This is my card for today's inspiration challenge over at SCS. I love how it turned out but I did not enjoy cutting out all the flourishes!! Someone needs to make a flourish punch......I used several stamp sets--I stamped Exoctic Stitch and cut it out--filled it over and glued them over the stamped flourishes from Priceless--cut out the leaves in the corner of Fresh Cut and glued them over all the other pieces. I think it ended up looking very much like the cover. I don't think I would ahve put Tangerine Tango with Taken with Teal--but I kinda like it!! I added a button in the corner as an embellishment. I have also included two cards that show off my new goodies that just arrived from the new Stampin'Up! catalog--scroll on down to see them. (the last one is my favorite)

I love my new texture plates from Stampin'Up! And yes they do work with the Cuttlebug if that is all that you have--Starting from the bottom up place Cuttlebug 'A' Plate, followed by the Texturz Plate, next the CS, then comes the SU Texturz Silicone Rubber and finally the SU Texturz Impressions Pad. I have tried it several ways and think this one works best. I love the soft texture that it give--it is not as defined as the CB folder but give a very nice impression! The DP in the card below is the new designer textured paper--FABULOUS!! Picture does not do it justice!! Okay the next card is my favorite..........

I just love how this card turned out, and it has so many of my new Stampin'Up! goodies packed into it--the diamond texture background was achieved with my new Texture Plate set, the corduroy buttons are a must have--2 piece of the new designer texture paper!! I just love new toys!! I got a new stamp set too, but was dying to play right away so I did not get it put together yet. I will be back later to show that off. Happy Stamping and have a great weekend. My kids are gone to Acquire the Fire this weekend so my darling husband is taking me out today--he did give me some time to stamp and blog this AM!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #27

Here is my card for today's limited supply challenge over at SCS: make a CAS card!! What does that mean?? Clean And Simple--it was fun to go back to the basics and just keep it simple!! I decided to use the Color Throwdown Challenge in this card as well. This weeks colors were Real Red, Brocade Blue, and Basic Black. The only black I used on this card was the sentiment. I know up against the other Color Throwdown Challenge girls this will appear very simple.........

You can also spend alittle more time, use a few more products, and come up with something like this one......

I stamped the U in Brocade Blue and cut it out--tied a trio of ribbons to the one side--attached it to a piece of Real Red that I ran through the Cuttlebug--added the MISS to the other side of the U, this piece I cut out using the deckle scissors--layered this main panel onto a piece of Brocade Blue that I also ran throught the Cuttlebug using the same folder--added a trio of gingham brads that I found at Target in the dollar bin (what a steal!!)--all of this on a base layer of Whisper White.
I think both card turned out good--in a pinch or for a challenge I like the CAS card, but the fun of putting together a more detail cards wins in my book. What do you think???

New Kind of Challenge

I have been challenged to another "fun" challenge. Teresa (aka: va.sunshine) challenged me to this: Go to where you store your photos on your computer. Go to the SIXTH folder and pick the SIXTH photo. Post that photo on your blog along with a SHORT story about it. Tag SIX people and leave a comment on their blog or email them letting them know you chose them.

So this is my picture: Taken at Christmas time, this is my parents (Stan and MaryJane) and my kids. My son Kendall is 14 and my daughter Jordan is 12. The side of our church was decorated so beautifully that we had them pose one Sunday after church. The kids were embrassed but they were good sports (with alittle parental encouragement).

Now lets see what some of you have in your sixth folder...........Steph, Lori, Betty, Christi, Silke, Tenia

Roxie's Sketch # 213

Roxie, over at SCS gace us a fun sketch to do today. I used Fresh Cuts from Stampin'Up! for my main image. I colored it in with markers--don't think I will do that again. It was alot harder than I thought it would be. The image is so detailed and small--not an easy task I must say--but I like how it looks. My #2 panel is Kiwi Kiss cardstock that I ran through my CB. #1 is Choc. chip cardstock and the #3 panel is Double stitched Choc. Chip ribbon. My embellishment is a felt flower attached with a brad.

Today is another snow day--make that ice day!! No school for the kids again! I should proablly do more than stamp today--somthing like cleaning.....Nah!! May be not!!

Jazzy Inspirations Challenge

Here is my creation for the Jazzy Inspiration challenge. Each week Tenia picks a jazz album cover for us to use as our inspiration. I love the colors that came with this album cover--Kiwi Kiss and Basic Gray. I have not used them together before but I will use them again!! I embossed my long stem flowers with my Cuttlebug and added pearls to the center of each flower. The DP on the lower section was perfect for this challenge because it had both the Kiwi Kiss and the Basic Gray--Thank you Stampin'Up! I added a ribbon to seperate the upper and lower portions and then added a sentiment (Those who hear not the music think the dancers mad.) which I thought was perfect since this challenge has a musical slant. I do apologize though to Verve stamps--the sentiment is from the Beautiful You set by Verve. My watermark says copyright Stampin' Up! I usually don't use this water make when I use my Verve stamps but I forgot--sorry!! I love both of these companies and do not want to leave anyone out as I am giving credit.

2 Sketches 4 You

Here are my card for this weeks sketch challenge over at 2Sketches4You. I need some baby card--my stash was getting low. So I decided to do not only the Sketch but also the bonus sketch so that I could make a boy and girl card. My pink card is for Laura's sketch 18. I used Pink Piroutte, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White. The mother to be and the sentiment are from a clear stamp I picked up at the Michaels dollar bin. I used my Nessties to cut out my circles. My background is embossed with my Swiss Dots folder. I used Pink Ginghma ribbon to accent the card. The sketch called for a square behind the circle--I used a white piece of card stock, covered it with 2-sided tape and covered it with the ribbon, added a clear button tied with the ribbon. I think it turned out very girly and cute!! My blue card is sqare and I used Baja Breeze cardstock and DP. I used a white ribbon across the bottom and attached it with brads--the main image is stamped in Baja Breeze and punched out with my flower petal punch. The spray of stars in the background was created using a paper piercer and a white gel pen and then star bards at the end of each spray. I think this one ended up very boyish and fun. Let me know what you think. We are iced in today so I think I will spend some time stampin......if I can get to the computer (the kids and I will be fighting over it) I will upload my creations.

Mojo Monday

Here is my card for today's Mojo Monday Sketch #71. I used some retired DP from Stampin'UP! that had butterflies images--that that would match in the the sentiment and stamped images. My base card is Very Vanilla. I used Choc. Chip ribbon to seperate the two DPs--I tied three knots on the ribbon. I punched out photo corners to match my main panel. The butterflies are stamped in Choc. Chip and colored it with Cameo Coral chalks. I then sponged the edges with Choc. Chip. The sentiment is from VERVE and it reads, "What the caterpiller call the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.--Richard Bach. I love this saying--it is a good reminder that our Master has everything under control even when we are thinking things are out of control. What a wonderful God we serve!! Take some time to thank Him today for even those rought times--they are what makes us beautiful!!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

I am a huge fan of the challenges from Our Creative Corner!! I always love to play along with these challenges. This week they have put together a sketch challenge.

I got the idea to use an Asian them. I stamped two of the Asian Painting stamps from Stampin'Up! (this set has been retired--but I love it!!) I punched out just a small circle from each one and colored them in with Stampin' Up!'s markers. Then I sponged the edges and layerd the circles on Tangerine Tango cardstock. I glues them on my trio of DP panels and it just seemed like something was missing. I pulled out my Exoctis Stitch stamp set and made some accent pieces--Old Olive leaves out lined with Always Artichoke and cut out along with a flourish stamped with Tangerine Tango on Tangerine Tango cardstock. Using my Choc. Chip marker I colored in the word only from my Kanji set, and did the same for the Chinies character in the upper right hand corner. I added this jeweled hat pin tied with Choc. Chip ribbon to finish it off. I love how it turned out and I know just the person who will be getting this card........Off to bed now!! It is not that late but I need an early bedtime!!

I got another award!! Thanks, Lisa!!

I am so excited! Lisa (she has a great blog--go on over and check it out)passed along this award to me!! What an honor!! Here are the rules for this award: “This award is given to a blog that invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!”The rule of the award is to now pass it on to another 8 people who demonstrate this spirit.” So in the spirit of that award here are the 8 people that I nominate--in no special order:
Lisa--Right back at you girl!! Of course you deserved this award and if you had not been give it by someone else already you would have gotten it from me.
Steph--My very first follower of my blog!! Of course you know that made my day!! Thanks for all of your sweet comments!!
Teresa--I love that you started stamping with me. You make me proud--not that I have taught you that much--you are most defiantely a natural. You are an artist all the way around.
Julee--I picked you for this award because even though you own your own company (awesome stamps by the way!!) you take time to hand out with all of us. You have such a generous spirit!! Your work is such an inspiration to me.
Christi--In spite of feeling rotten alot of the time, she takes the time to stamp and pass along her inspiration to others.
Lori--I just recently started following her blog--she does an awesome job of write about her creations. I love her work and think (at least in my mind) we have alot of the same tastes when it comes to cards!!
Jessica--I love your blog design!! That black and pink really rocks!! I love your work and even though I am new at following you blog I have much inspiration from you. Congrats--that baby boy is just around the corner.
Frances--Her work is so clean and crisp and eye catching. And in the spirit of this award she is all the time mentioning others and sharing links to other great sites. I often start on her blog and who knows where I will end up. She is great at directing you to others out there who have great talent.
Allison--Talk about sharing the love, each day she give a list of Newly Discovered sites. I was so excited when she listed me. She has a little girl that has been in the hospital but I just read that she will be coming home today.
So there you have my list of 8. There are so many great stampers out there that it was had to chose. Happy Stamping to all of you!!

Jewelry Color Inspiration

My friend Teresa told me about this fun challenge she found so I decided to check it out. Wowsers!! What fun will this be!! Stacey takes a picture of a piece of jewelry that she has found and then the challenge it to create something using this piece of jewelry as your inspiration. She also will give you colors to help you. So it is like two challenges rolled into one--a color challenge and an inspiration challenge.

Here is the recipe for my card: I started with a Whisper White base, the background is a piece of DP in Tangerine Tango, my next layer is a piece of DP in Old Olive, and then a layer of DP in Baja Breeze. My flowers are stamped with the Polka Dot Punches (one of the Sale-A-Bration sets--coming soon!!) in Choc. Chip, and then punched out with the 5 petal punch. I added Baja Breeze brads to the center of each flower. The leaves are punched out with my Martha Stewart fern punch. I added white brads to compliment my white sentiment. The sentiment was cut out using my Nessties and Cuttlebug. I layered it onto of my Baja Breeze stripe ribbon. So here you have my inspired card:

His Holy Name--Sovereign

Here is my page for my little ring album for His Holy Name challenge. I am alittle disappointed in the album that I have chosen to use for this challenge. It was so cute and I love the design but it is so small. I feel like I hardly have any room left to decorate once I get the Name and verse is place. Oh well, I think I will continue and see how it goes. This weeks word was sovereign. I decided to use I Sam 7:28 for my verse--"O Sovereign Lord, you are God! Your words are trustworthy and you have promised these good things to your servant." I was reminded again that even in the midst of difficult time our God is a sovereign God and he can be trusted because he wants what is best for us. On the back I used the quote that Patter used in her write up. It is a quote from Hannah Whitall Smith and is says, "He overrules everything. No trial comes except by His permission and for some wise and loving purpose which perhaps only eternity will disclose." Just think on that awhile and His peace that passes all understanding will desend on you!! It did me!

Paint it Black!!

The challenge for Friday was to use Black as your ba

ckground. I love the way it makes the card really pop! I used my cuttlebug and flower to give the background an image and then stamped the matching flowers from Pocket Silhouettes by Stampin'Up! in Real Red. I finished it off with a Real Red Striped ribbon. This was so very easy and yet I think it is very classy!! I will have to remember this when I need a card and time is a factor. I love it when I find a great card that takes only minutes to make. I hope you all have a relaxing weekend!! I know I plan too!!!

Saturday is an inspiration challenge over at SCS--today we are drawing our inspiration from Lang calendars. I decided to also use the Color Throwdown Challenge (Pink Passion, Kraft, and Black) and kill two birds with one stone. I love the collage look that Wingets Sketch has--that was my inspiration. I used my CB and Label 1 Nessties to cut out my main panel. I used Kraft DP and then added all sorts of images from all sorts of stamp sets. (If you want a list of the stamps I used go to My SCS Gallery) I then stamped my Butterfly on Whisper White and colored him in with Creamy Carmel and Pink Passion, using my Blender Pen and the tops of my ink pads. I added glitter highlights all over the butterfly with my clear glitter pen--it does not show up in the picture but in real life it is so eye catching. Next I cut out my butterfly and attached him only in the center so that his wings gone be raised a bit. I punched a slot out of my Label 1 layer and threaded some Pink Passion ribbon through and tied a knot. Then I layered it on black and another piece of Kraft DP. The sentiment that I added is from Wonderful Words, by Stampin' Up! This is one of my favorite sentiment sets--I hate that it has been retired, but atleast I have it!! I hope you like it! Everyone have a great weekend!!

I finally made it back!!

Okay so here it is 10:20 and I am just getting back to give the details on this card. Can you say long day?? Let me just say that it has definately been one of those!! Anyway....I love the way my card turned out today. It was for the Sketch Challenge given by Roxie at SCS. I was in the mood for something Asian and this is what came together for me. I ran my background through my CB--Layered my main panel on Choc. Chip--used my Bamboo (Stampin'Up!)background stamp--stamped my Stipple Butterfly (Stampin'Up!) in Basic Brown and colored him with with my watercolor pencils and blender pen--I then cut him out and sponges the edges with Basic Brown--I also stamped the butterfly on the white panel so that the antennes would show without me having to cut them out--I used a Choc. Chip double stitched ribbon as my #3 layer and finished it off with a sentiment punch out with my oval punches. I hope you like it!! On the inside of the card I used the Harmony stamp out of Kanji by Stampin Up!

Valentine's Treat Baggies

Last week we had a challenge to make Valentine's Day card that were not CHEESEY!! That was fun--how about some goodies bags that are CHEESEY as well. I made these to show off the new Top Note Die from Stampin'Up! My club liked them and I hope you will too. The red and white goodie bag is made with 2 Top Note Dies cut out of Whisper White paper. After you stamp and decorate one of them, glue them onto the mini paper lunch sack (one on the front and one on the back) that you have shorten (should be just below the edge of the Top Note Die). Punch a hole close to the top (I think mine is alittle to close) through both layers. Fill with goodies and tie with a matching ribbon. How easy is that!! The brown and pink goodie bag is even easier--cut out one Top Note Die fold in half and decorate the side that is facing you. Fill mini candy bag and glue inside the fold. Wha-La!! There you have--supper dupper easy!!

Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, and Bravo Burgunday

Wow!! What a color challenge!! Emily over at SCS made me really work for my card today! That Regal Rose part really threw me!! I had a hard time getting that color to look right--I started over several times. In the end, I was pleased with how it turned out. I am alittle disappointed that my Thank You charm does not show up any better--I had a hard time photographing this card. Tried that a couple times as well.....anyway here are the details about my card. My base is Whisper White, the background layer is Kiwi Kiss embossed with the Cuttlebug using Swiss Dots. My circle was cut out using my Nessties. My main panel was stamped using Regal Rose and Bravo Burgundy--the stamp set I chose was Pocket Silhouettes by Stampin'Up! I added dragonflies, a ribbon and a Thank You charm as embellishments to my card. So there you have it after many tries I have it stamped, assembled, and photographed for you!! Happy Stampin!!

Mojo Sketch Challenge #70

Well it is Mojo Monday again!! I love sketch challenges!!
I decided to use Seaside Sketches from Stampin'Up! I used my Cuttlebug for the bottom layer--the Circle piece was cut using my Nessties for both the DP and Riding Hood Red cardstock--the main panel is layerd with Riding Hood Red as well--I water colored the image and paper pieced the dress--I used a dimensional on the bottom of the skirt so that it looks like it is blowing in the breeze. I used the square in the middle to be my sentimnet. Choc. Chip ribbon run across the top to fulfill that part of the sketch. Get you Mojo on and give this sketch a try!!

Faux Mosaic Tile

Here is my card for today's technique challenge given by Lynn on SCS. We were to use the Faux Mosaic technique. I have never done this technique before so this was a great challenge for me. I used copper embossing powder to fill in the "grout". I also used coppuer hardware as embellishments. My flowers are stamped in Riding Hood Red and then punched out. The stamped flowers and flourishes are from the Stampin'Up! set called, Exoctic Stitched. The sentiment is also from Stampin'Up!--Small Script. My layers are: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive and then DP for my mosaic tiles. I tied some copper ribbon and Always Artichoke ribbon onto my hardware. Happy Monday to all--hope this week is a great one for you!!

Fresh Cuts--Embossed Resist

Good Evening to all of friends in blog land. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I have had a very relaxing weekend. I am refreshed and ready for a new week to begin. I was not going to stamp today but my hubby was watching the game, my daughter had a friend over, and my son was at a friends so I decided I would stamp!! The Our Creative Corner challenge was frist on my list of things to work on, so here you have it. This weeks challenge was to use the Emboss Resist technique. I stared with my image (Fresh Cuts from Stampin'Up!) embossed with Pretty Pearls and then instead of spongeing my color on I used my aqua painter and watercolored over my embossed image. I used More Mustard, Old Olive, Ruby Red, and Creamy Carmel to give my image its color. I layered my image on More Mustard and Old Olive cardstock. Next is took the vine stamp from this set and stamped it on the background layer once. I tied a felt ribbon around this layer. That layer was then attached to Choc. Chip cardstock with 3D glue dots, and to balance off the ribbon I punched out two flowers that I stamped with Choc. Chip ink on Choc. Chip paper and attached them with ultra mini brads. Thanks for stopping by and having a look--I hope you each have a great week!! Can you believe it is the middle of Jan already??!!??

Jazzy Inspiration Challenge

Here is my card for #3 in the Jazzy Inspiration Challenge.

I used Baja Breeze and Night of Navy for my "Blues". That is what this inspiration called for. I layed down a circle shaped mask and sponges the Baja Breeze all around it. The flowers were stamped in Night of Navy and the reeds were stamped in Night of Navy that had been stamped off one time. The Night of Navy panel was run through the Cuttlebug. My sentiment was punched out and layered under the silver hardware--I attched the hardware with a ribbon for something different. I hope you like it. I have also pictured the album cover that we were to pull our inspiration from.

I have been tagged!!

I got a notice this AM that I have been tagged by Glitterbabe. Yeah!! So I am going to follow along with this and pay it forward. Here the rules as I read them on Steph's blog.

1)Link the person who tagged you (which I did above)
2)Mention the rules (which I am listing out right now)
3)Tell 6 things about myself (they will follow below)
4)Tag 6 other bloggers by linking to them--they are:
Christi
Teresa
Tenia

Lisa
Lori
5)Go to each person's blog and leave them a comment letting themknow they have been tadded.

So here are 6 things about me:

1)I am a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. I try very hard to make Him the center of my world. I am very involved in our local church--lead a small group of women and give direction to the preschools at our church.
2)I am married to my best friend. Stan is my other half--we have been married for almost 20 years--July 1st will be our 20th Anniversary. We share a fantastic marriage built around Christ, and filled lots of love and laughter.

That's because I loved it so much!!
5)I love to go camping with the family!! We have a popup camper and enjoy taking several camping trips each summer. This summer we are planning a trip out west to the Grand Canyon--we are all really looking forward to this big adventure!!

2 Sketches 4 You

I found a new blog (2 Sketches 4 You) with a fun sketch and I thought I would share it with you.

I just got my preordered set of Sale-A-Bration stamps this week so I have had fun using them to make most of my card. For this card I also am using the Designer Paper that is available during the Sale-A-Bration promotion. I used two different sheet of the DP and the heart from that set. The two ribbons are also part of the items you can earn during Sale-A-Bration. (I love both ribbons--they tie up so nice!!) I stamped the sentiment on the ribbon. The overlaying panel was cut out with my Nessties. The heart is part of the set--Polka Dot Punches. I attched it using a rhinestone brad. The colors for this card are: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Sahara Sand, and matching DP. It is a Valentines card using unconventional colors--I kinda like it for something different.

Thursday, January 15, 2009

Here is my card for today's SCS Ways to Use it Challenge--pull out the color wheel and use a combo that is new to you. I found this great site that puts color combos together for you using the Stampin Up colors. Here is a link to it: http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/
It is an awesome site and the combinations are endless.
I used Brocade Blue, Really Rust and More mustard with Choc. CHip and Vanilla as my naturals. The trio of color panels were run throught the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. Each panel was attached using a brad. The trio of flowers was stamped using color on color and then attached with a brad at the center. The flower image is from one of the coming Sale-bra-tion stamp sets: Polka Dot Punches. Sale-bra-tion is just around the corner, and they have some great items that you can get free.....wanna know how?? Let me know if you are interested and I will give you the scoop!!

This card is a combination of the Color Throwdown Challenge (Riding Hood Red, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, and Pumkin Spice) and the SCS Sketch challenge. I started with a Whisper White base and added 2 panels of Baja Breeze that I had run throught the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. My main panel is layered on Certainly Celery--the main panel was stamped with the Inspired By Nature stamp set. I used Pumkin Spice for the flowers and and added Riding Hood Red ink to the flower heads, the leaves are inked in Certainly Celery. I also went back over the heads using my Choc. Chip marker and added tiny dots. I then sponged around a masked circle to create my moon. I sponged in Riding Hood Red first, then Pumkin Spice, and then Baja Breeze. My sentiment was stamped in Choc. Chip. I used Jumbo Brads and ribbon to accent my corners and give that element that the sketch called for. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek--I hope your liked it!!

Blog Candy!!

No new card today--I have had one of those very busy days that allows you no time to stamp. I hate those kinds of day!! But......I do want to let you know of some blog candy out there that I have heard about. Stop in here to see what Elizabeth is giving away.

Yeah!! It arrived!!

I have been waiting for my new Join the Cheer die to get here since the day after Christmas!! I was getting so anxious. As soon as the UPS man left I was cutting open the box so I could play with it. I wanted the "love" portion of it for some Valentines day cards, but for my card today I used the "Cheer" section. I love that you can use the words individually or as a header across a 12 x 12 memory album page. For this card I cut the "Cheer" out twice--in Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy and then layerd them. The flowers and dragonfly are stamped in Not Quite Navy ink on Baja Breeze paper and then cut out and glittered. The Not Quite Navy background is Cuttlebug-ed. I added matching ribbon and brads to finish off the card. I hope you all like it--I sure had fun playing with my new toys!!

FUN is GOOD!!

If you never did, you should. These things are fun and fun is good!! Love this quote from Dr. Seuss--it is part of the VERVE, Beautiful You set. I used the Mojo Monday sketch again to do the Color Challenge from SCS. Today's color combo was to use Kraft, Not Quite Navy, and Baja Breeze. The background panel I ran through the CB--the middle panel is some Kraft DP--embellished with ultra mini brads and ribbon.

Mojo Sketch Challenge #69

Here is my card for the Monday Mojo Sketch challenge. I used some Real Red DP, Whisper White paper that I ran through the Cuttlebug, Black ribbon to seperate the panels, and my Nesties to create my main panel. The trio of red circles were punched out and attached with heart shaped brads. I finished off my main panel with a trio of black brads. Do you think it looks to "Valentinesey" to send to a female friend??? I am thinks not but was wondering what you think.......

Challenge Duo

This card combines the sketch challenge from Viva la Verve and the limited supply challenge from SCS. Two challenges make for a fantastic card! The sketch challenge added a twist--add some bling. I used my glitter pen to trace over the red of the hearts and used a rhinestone charm to fulfill that twist. For the limited supply challenge we were to use red, heart stamps, heart embellishment, etc. So here you have my creation!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #24

Mellow Moss : Baja Breeze : Very Vanilla

So there you have the Throwdown Challenge for this week. I do love this challenge and it give me yet another reason to make a card--not that I need one!! This combo was easy for me to work with--a natural fit in my opinion. Those color challenges that give me colors that I normally would not put together are much harder for me. I used some DP, hardware, ribbon and window punch to create this card. Since my son is home recovering from some oral surgery that he had done today, I have had time to stamp while being home and available for him. Noramally my hubby and I have a class on Thrusday nights, but since Kendall needed me to be available--I got to stay home a stamp--YEAH!! The surgery went well and he is doing well too. Once we get brackets attached on Tuesday we will be done with this painful part of the process.

Today on SCS we were given a challenge to use stars--anyway you wished. Here are my 2 cards. Mom and baby fish are swimming on the wavey star sea....I stamped the fishies in Ballet blue and then used my More Mustard marker to add accent color. My star is run throught the Cuttlebug with my wave folder. I added dew drops for the air bubbles. I think it turned out pretty cute. The starfish caught my eye--of course I have to make a card using them. They are starfish!! I stamped them on Ruby Red cardstoack and cut them out. The main panel has a starfish that I colored with chalks. Nexted I used my corner punch to accent my corners. I love the stamp set (Fishy Friends from Stampin'Up!)that these stamps came out of--they have been retired but I still love them. I talked to my sister and while are having snow here in VA she is hanging out on the beach--just hearing about it made me pulled this set out!!

His Holy Name

I have decided to be apart of the His Holy Name challenge--every other week through out 2009 we will be given a name of our Lord. Our job is to study God's word to find a verse or verses that we found to have special mean to us and create either a page, ATC, Rolodex card, etc. My album is a little shaped chipboard ring album. My inside pages I cut to have a straight edge. Our first name was HOLY. I used Isa. 6:3 on my title page--"Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, the whole earth is filled with His glory". I decided on this verse because I love the reminder that He is here with us and His glory surrounds us. On the back of that pages I listed these verses: I Peter 1:16, I Sam 2:2, and Luke 1:49. I enjoyed the extra time I was able to spend in God's word, and of course designing my pages was fun!! I am looking forward to our next Name and excited about what my album will look like in the end. Come along and join the fun!!

Looking for Love Release Week Challenge

Here are my entries for the Looking for Love Release Week Challenges. Julee gave us one color challenge and 3 sketch challenges. I have enjoyed the extra challenges but I am not getting my work done like I should--oh well!! That is what happens when you get hooked to stamping!! I am not sure how this happened (still learning my way around my blog) but the cards are not in order of the sketchs!! I have tried editing several times and I can't get it to work!! Oh well at least the 4 cards are here together.
