2 Mother's Day Cards

 2 cards, each inspired by 2 challenge2...

Card #1...

Try Stamping on Tuesday // #TSOT552

...A sketch challenge!!  There was an optional twist of using black and white plus one additional color but I just couldn't pull that off since I needed a Mother's Day card.

Card #2...

Global Design Project // #GDP340 ...A CASE challenge!!  For this challenge we are CASEing a card made by Ann Alexander.  I love the foliage & square layers, and all the pieces and parts (twine & rhinestones).  While I used a Happy Mother's Day sentiment...it is a thank you card for the best mom ever!!

And since both of these cards are Mother's Day cards they are being entered in the TGIF Challenge!! #TGIF366  They have a theme challenge for their current challenge...Happy Mother's Day!!

The Paper Players #588

Today's card was inspired by 1 challenge...

The Paper Players // #PP588 ...A sketch challenge!!  I decided to keep this card monochromatic using just Soft Suede ink and card stock.  Embossing the base and the square using the same folder...I love the way it turned out.  It was very simple to put together but very classy and eye catching!!

New Challenge @ Shopping Our Stash

Today begins a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash...

Shoppin Our Stash // #SOS469

We have a new challenge starting today!!  We want you to shop  your stash and create a card for a mom, grandmother, or some other important lady in your life!!  Here is a sentiment to get your creative juices flowing..."What a difference you have made in my life".  We can't wait to see how you are inspired and what you will use from your stash.  From my stash, I pulled out some sheer ribbon (remember when it was all the rave and showed up on everyone's cards) and a heart charm that I have been hoarding.

3 other challenges inspired my card...

Cupcake Inspiration // #CI542 ...A color challenge!! The trio of colors for this challenge...orchid, lime and yellow.  When I brayered my yellow ink over the orchid stenciled bricks it made them kinda orange looking.

Sunday Stamps // #SSC281 ...A sweet pastels challenge!! Use 3 of the 5 pastels from the graphic.  I picked the green, the yellow, and the orchid.

TicTacToe Challenge // #tttc158 ...A game board challenge!!  My winning three in a row on this game board are...ink blending, embellishment, and stencil.

Color Hues // #TCH39 ...A color challenge!! The color duo for this challenge is green and purple!!  I had some retired Concord Crush ribbon that I wanted to use so out came my Concord Crush ink that paired perfectly with Garden Green.

Time Out // #212 ...A theme challenge!! SPRING!!  Their photo of a field of purple tulips inspired my row of purple tulips.

CASology #402 // Retro Rubber Challenge #180

 2 challenges...

1st challenge...

CASology // #402 ...A cue card challenge!!  The cue card for this current challenge is FLUFFY!!  I got asked to make a birthday card with a puppy theme.  It was ordered with the intent of the puppy giving it to his owner.  After seeing a picture of the puppy this is what I made for her.

2nd challenge...

Retro Rubber Challenge // #rrcb180 ...A sketch challenge!!  For this challenge we are also asked to use stamps that are over a year old.  I used two different sets from Stampin Up for my sentiments...Good Greetings from 2014 and Sheltering Tree from 2015.  The designer papers used for this challenge along with the butterfly punch are also very retro and have been retired for several years.

I cut 3 pieces of designer paper to 4 x 5.25 and then cut my triangles out of each one  which made for 3 cards.  I didn't want to add any more scraps to my pile so I decided to go ahead and use the top portions right away which created an additional 3 cards.  6 cards later I have used up all the scrap pieces and have additional cards for my stash!!  Win!!
