After a fun time away with family for the Thanksgiving holiday it is good to get back into the swing of things here at home....During this season on the year I find myself so very thankful for family, friends, and fun times....oh a yummy food of course!!

My card for today is based on the sketch for the Mojo Monday challenge. I enjoyed this sketch alot and can see myself using it over and over!!

The papers, the stamps, punches, and inks are all from Stampin Up!!

Mojo Monday #162

It is Mojo Monday time once again!! Today I decided to make a Round card....I think I am sorta hooked on them!! This one is for a friend who just lost her mother....I really wanted it to have a sympathy sentiment on the front but I just couldn't find one that fit....so that had to go inside the card.

I used my new Distressing Essentials kit from Stampin Up!! Itis must have for vintage cards....it comes with: 1 flat stamp, 4 distressing ink spots, 1 sanding block, an emery board, and 3 precision files. I love the precisions files....they are awesome for distressing the edges!! I can't believe I waited so long to order it.....order yours today!!!

Pun Fun.....a great stamp set

Below you will find two cards made with the Pun Fun stamp set.....this a a great set to have with so many fun images and sentiments. When putting this set together I did not attach the sentiments with the images....I cut them separately and added them to the edge of the wood mounting block so that I could interchange the images and sentiments.....makes the set so much more versatile.

Mojo Monday 160 & Color Throwdown 114

I was laying in bed this moring thinking about how long it has been since I made a card.....wow!! My last post here was for a CTD challenge....#109....that was 15 challenges ago!! I need to make time for some card making!!! Now that my Maine album is finished I think I will do better. I am heading to CA for a week with my hubby (business mostly but we are planning a few fun things too) so once I get back from there...then I will get my mojo back on!!

For today's card I used the Mojo Monday sketch (even though it's Friday) and the Color Throwdown color combo (Poppy Parade, Choc. Chip, So Saffron, and Pear Pizzaz). I flipped the sketch for my card. Stamped my main image in Choc. Chip, sponged my background with So Saffron, Poppy Parade, and Pear Pizzaz, and layered it on some designer paper to match. Added some brads, chipboard, ribbon, and stitching to finish it off. The stamp set is called Just Believe....a must have set!!!

2sketch4you sketch challenge & Color Throwdown Challenge #109

Today I decided to combine the Color Throwdown Challenge with the 2sketch4you sketch challenge.....I know I know....it has taken me all week to get these challenges done!! I stamped this twice...once in Pear Pizzazz and once in Tempting Turquoise. I cut out the flowers from the Tempting Turquoise and glued them on to the Pear Pizzazz. I sponged the back ground with Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight and layers the main image on Pear Pizzazz. On the background piece I used Daffodil Delight ribbon and scrunched it as I layered it across the Melon Mambo DP. I made this card for my sister in law who has a birthday on the 19th. Happy Birthday, Anne!!!

Mojo Monday #155

To is Thursday.....where did the week go!!! This is my first chance to stamp this week. I think I had more time to stamp while homeschooling!! Now that the kids are in school it seems like I am running all the time!! While I was homeschooling I was here every day and while the kids worked independently I would stamp....now I find my days filling up and cramping my scrapping time!! If I don't get more time in I might have to start seeing a therapist....lol....cause you know I always say stamping is my therapy!! Any way here is my card for this week's Mojo Monday challenge.....and even though it took me till Thursday to get my mojo on....I do love how it turned out!! I am so not ready for winter but I just had to use my new VERVE stamps that I won!! Here is what I used to make this card: snowflake embossing folder, Stazon black ink, Stampin UP!'s Riding Hood Red cardstock and ink, black gingham ribbon, Stampin Up!'s tag punch, chuncky red glitter from Stampin Up!, and some wooden snowflakes given to my by my dear friend Teresa Kline.

Soul Scrappers Sketch Challenge

Soul Scrappers is hosting a sketch challenge right now.....here is my take on the challenge. I did the 1st page pretty much like the sketch but then I flipped it for the second page so that I could have a 2 page layout. These pictures are from our recent trip to Maine with our friends. Of course when you go to Maine you have to have some real....."lobstah"!!! If you haven't checked out the Soul Scrappers site.....Please do!! Color Throwdown & Stamping 411 challenges

Today my card was designed using the Color Throwdown challenge and the Stampin 411 sketch challenge. I love the way this one turned out!! My So Saffron background was embossed using my Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder. I didn't have Choc. Chip mulberry paper so I made some by inking up a white piece....the edges that were still wet from tearing it and the edges got darker...really cool...even though I covered up most of it with my Kraft layer. My Kraft layer is stamped using a retired background stamp from Stampin Up called Script. The butterflies were created using my embosslit folder and Choc. Chip pearls...the tiny ones!! I threaded some So Saffron ribbon onto a hat pin and added some pearls to create the cross piece at the bottom.....I layered my on top of the main panel image instead of placing it behind....other than that I stuck pretty close to the sketch. Yesterday I told you that I needed to make 4 monogram cards for birthdays that fall during this month......at the time I was not sure if I would use this same sketch or if I would do the others differently....I decided to use this same sketch.....amazing the different cards that you can create even if you are following the given sketch.

I need 4 birthday cards this month for friends in my small group and decided to make each of them Monogram cards. This sketch from Julee over at the Mojo Monday sketch challenge worked perfect for the first one.....I still need to make a "L", "D", and "A" card.....not sure if I will use the sketch on all of them but I do really like how this one turned out. I used Dusty Durango and Kiwi Kiss...the crochet flower was orginally white and I colored it a bit with my Dusty Durango marker. Today I made my card using the sketch from over at 2sketch4you....this week's sketch was by Kazan. Simple and yet of so eye catching!! I love the way my card turned out. I used the same dp to paper piece the wheel barrow and I paper pieced the birdie as well (all though it does not show up very good in the photo) using one layer for his body and another for this tiny wing (cutting that out was a bear!!) Loving that Apricot Appeal teamed up with the Choc. Chip....they make a nice pair!! I also added alittle brad to the wheel....just a little something extra!! My flowers were colored in using Stampin Up markers. The stamp set that I used for this card is a retired set from Stampin Up.....called Love You Bunches. Thanks for stopping by and having a look!! I needed a birthday card for my sister-in-law......so this is what I did....used the color combo from the Color Throwdown Challenge, the sketch from Mercy's blog, and the technique challenge from Soul Scrappers.....normally I would make a scrapbooking page for Soul Scrappers but since I had very little time this weekend for scrapping I decide I would use it on this much needed card!! The technique challenge was to use....Faux Cloisonne' I love this technique and used it on the flowers. The color challenge was Rose Red (my ribbon and the dp

for my flowers) Pear Pizzazz ( other dp, leaves and stem, cardstock layer on main image panel) So Saffron (inked center on the PP dp, center of the flower brad, 3rd type of dp) Pretty in Pink (cardstock layer and embossed piece). And last but not least.....the sketch.....there you have my card!! Play along with all three by clicking on the images for each challenge!!

My Daughter's Boyfriend

So my daughter's boyfriend (okay did I just say that out loud and put it in writing) is having surgery on his heart tomorrow (nothing major but scary all the same). His parents are one of our dearest and closest friends and we will be going with them to the hospital tomorrow.....my daughter thinks she should be able to skip school and be there as well!! Any way the challenge for today over at Spiltcoast Stampers was to use a photo for your card.....I knew right away what I wanted to do.....make his get well card out of this adorable photo I have of the two of them. So here you have my card for today's challenge.......I used the Friendly Words wheel (cut apart so that I can have all those cute little sentiments--see how here) to stamp on the photo--layered it on Night of Navy and then on an embossed piece of Basic Gray--added a silver heart tag charm and ribbon to finish it off. Maybe this will be one card he will not throw away....he can set it up in his room and have a picture of the two of them. Anyway I thought it turned out sweet. Today I made a card using the 2sketch4you sketch for my card of the day. I used the new Designer Paper from Stampin Up and the new crocheted lace from Stampin Up. The leave dies were a gift to me from my husband for my birthday...they are from Magnolia. The flower stamp I won from VERVE....that was fun....I was the $75 winner during the Anniversary celebration. Here is my card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch and Color Throwdown color combo. I loved them both!! The four squares that were called from in the sketch reminded me of a window so I ran with that idea....did some sponging with the blue and green and then finished it off with alittle Crumb Cake (what I used for Kraft on this card) Both stamps are from VERVE all the other products used here are from Stamping Up!! After a very busy summer and a full filled vacation trip to Maine....I am back into the swing of things!! The kids went back to school today and I spent some time unpacking and cleaning up...now it is time to do some stamping!! I decided to combine these two challenges and created this card.....Quirky-Cutesy with a color combo of Peach, Seafoam Green, Kraft, and Cream from Embellish Magazine and the sketch challenge from 2sketch4you.....throw all that together and you get this card!! I used my Bingo Embossing folder that my hubby gave me for my birthday (yes, he ordered it online....didn't he do good!!) and this cute little dog stamp set from Stampin Up! Can you guess what I used for my ribbon slide????

Mojo Monday Sketch & Shabby Tea Room Inspiration

This is my card for this week's Mojo Monday's Sketch Challenge and the Shabby Tea Room's inspirations challenge. I enjoyed getting make a card today....such a busy summer has left me with little time to stamp!! I have missed it!! I am glad for the opportunity to play alittle today....not sure how much more I can plan until the kids go back to school. We leave for vacation on Friday.....heading to Acadia National Park in Maine.

My card was created with some 6 x 6 dp from the Stampin Up's Sale-A-Bration this year. I sponged all the edges with Crumb Cake (one of Stamin Up's new colors)....Cut out the houses and the tree top and attached them with dimensional....hand cut along the lines of the background paper (okay...I won't ever do that again!!!)...Stamped my sentiment (one of Verve's great stamps) in Soft Suede and layered it on a chipboard flower that I also sponged in Crumb Cake. There you have it!!

Here is my card for this week's EmbellishMagazine's Color Challenge

featuring the use of birds. I decided to use this great paper from a Cosmo Cricket tablet that I just got.....love that the colors were perfect for this challenge and that the one sheet of dp had birds on it!! Everything I needed right there together!! I created a crocheted rose using the new Chantilly 1/2 Crochet Trim from Stammpin Up....added a brown brad for the center and tied a knot to create the leaves....I added some ultra mini brown pearls for the eyes on each of the birds and stamped a Get Well Greeting....also from Stampin Up!! Cosmo Cricket/Let's Scrap Sketch/Soul Scrappers To Do List Theme

I created this page for the August CosmoCricket Challenge over at Let's Scrap....use any Cosmo Cricket paper and the sketch of your choice.

This is also for the Theme challenge over

at Soul Scrappers....we were to create a page representing our To Do Lists....okay that is not something I am good at. My hubby on the other hand is and he is always starting them for me......I add to it through out the day completely cheating the system....because my list usually represent things I have already done!! I know I know.....I should learn to be a list maker...it would save time and I wouldn't forget so many things.

Any way my page is so true to form for me.....write it down after the fact!! But hey I thought it would make a good first page for my 2010 family album...kinda like an index for what is to come in the following pages....it worked for me!!! So here is a bit about it....used Cosmo Cricket Coordination paper for my back ground...used some more CC to on my 2010 chipboard pieces....stamped a calendar page for each month...circled the month it represented and then listed the things that we did in the given month....added some canvas letters for our name and a few little embellishment to finish it off!!

Another Shaker Card......

After this week's 100th Color Throwdown celebration....I was not sure if they would be able to come up with a combo that would be as fun or exciting....boy was I wrong!!

I used this week's sketch from 2Sketches4You and I made another shaker card because I had so much fun with the one I did yesterday.

I pulled some Kiwi Kiss dp from my scrap pile....since I did not have kraft I used some Creamy Carmel....created my shaker box at the middle of the space ship and add chuncky blue glitter....I thought it looks pretty close to Baja Breeze....embossed my background pieces and added some ribbon to finish it off. ColourQ Challenge

It is time for another Colour Q challenge....using these colors I created this birthday card. I also created a shaker out of his belly!! I filled the shaker area with some chuncky glitter.....I don't make these kinds of cards very often because I always make ans mess and I don't like the time it takes to complete it....but they are so much for kids and since I need card for a youngster I decided it would be worth the little extra effort that it takes. Smiles on littles one's faces are priceless!!!

Memory Album Pages

We are cooling off in our camper....A/C and camping....you gotta love it!! Anyway I thought I would take the time to up load several pages that have been on my desk top just waiting for me to take the time to showcase them. These pages are of our anniversary trip several years ago....we stay on the Skyline Drive at a lodge and took in all the gorgeous sites. Awesome time away......we added to the fun by borrowing a friends jeep!! Fun Fun Fun!!!

New Sketch/New Stamp Set

Here is my card for the sketch given over at Let's Scrap....I used a stamp set from the sponsor of this weeks sketch...Mark's Finest Papers. I stamped my frog on patterned paper from Stampin UP....cut him out and sponged the edges--created a background using the cat tail stamp, brayering some colors over it with a masked moon--embossed my background with a plate from Stampin Up and then spritzing the paper!! My sister is visiting right now...she and her 4 boys!! We are having so much fun and after having them around for 3 weeks I know I will miss them terribly when they leave.....so I have made this card and will send it before she leave so that when they arrive home she will have it. For this card I used Mercy's sketch and the color combo challenge from Embellish Magazine. EM's challenge also called for a label and I created my wavy label by hand and stamped it with an I Miss You sentiment from Stamping up. My main image piece was stamped in Choc. Chip and colored in with So Saffron and Cameo Coral.....all products from Stampin Up.

It has been forever since I have gotten to make a card....it feels great!! I have not had a chance to stamp in such a long time.....busy busy schedules around here!! I used my new embossing folder that I just got today.....So Saffron, Perfect Plum, and Mellow Moss for my color combination, and I decided to play around with the Mojo Monday sketch today....always a great source of inspiration. I hope to be able to play along alittle more than I have been these last several weeks. Thanks to all of you who missed me and let me know....that felt good!!

So what is my challenge??

Using this picture as your inspiration make a CARD!! I know I know...you are hopping from blog to blog for Let's Scrap (and that is a Scrapping site) but I thought I would shake it up a bit and give you something alittle different (we do that once a month over at Let's Scrap for our challenge). For your challenge use the 5-5-10 page layout (the left side of it....cause that is the one with only one image) as your sketch (I think that all the circles in this sketch fit perfect with the inspiration picture) and make a square card.....also make sure you include aleast 4 pieces of patterned paper, some brads, and in place of the photo use a stamped image (of course this will not be a 4 x 6 as called for in the sketch)....so what does this challenge call for....here is a summary:

Embellish Dimension Color Challenge

Today I created a card for the Embellish Magazine's Color challenge....they also want us to include dimension of some kind. My colors are taken from the Stampin Up color collection: Baja Breeze, Choc. Chip, Certainly Celery, and Really Rust. My Really Rust back ground was embossed using my paisley embossing folder...the main panel was cut out using the Nessties cutting system...my paisleys on the main panel we cut out and paper piece using the Provo Craft paisley die...that main panel is held in place by dimensional...the center part of the ribbon is attached using a 3D glue dot. Here is my take on this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I love the 4 blocks and had so many ideas to use them but I have just run out of time.....to much to do today!! Maybe later I will come back to try for of the more creative ideas that are rolling around in my head. I also used the Color Challenge from SCS.......use Gable Green, Lovely Liliac, and Cameo Coral. My base is a square card from Michaels that has already been embossed, all other products are from Stampin Up with the exception of the Stamp....that gorgeous little tree is from VERVE. Embellish Magazine's Color Challenge/do some embossing

This week we were to use the colors: Blue, Yellow, Pink, and Green for the Embellish Magazine's challenge. When I read that those were the colors I right ways thought of flowers...so out came my Asian Artistry set from Stampin Up....I used markers to color the stamp and then sponged in my sunshine.....the butterflies were embossed using my embosslites die from Stampin Up....and the background of my card is embossed as well....these pre-embossed cards from Michaels have become some of my favorite cards...then add so much to your card and are a time saver....to finish off my card I added a trio of matching pink brads. Embellish Magazine's Color Challenge

Today I made this cute little Party Favor Thank You baggie out of an envelope. I created a front and a back for the baggie using my Top Note die from Stampin Up. The Kraft background was embossed using a folder from ProvCraft....I think this pattern goes great with these little robots from Stampin Up. I stamped my little guy in Basic Black and added a touch of Real Red to give him some color. I then used my sponge in both black and red ink. This baggie was created for the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge.....use black, red, kraft, and white.

My card today represents 2 challenges.....the Mojo Monday sketch challenge and the Color Throwdown challenge. I love both of these challenges and always look forward to the inspiration that I get from them. I am trying to use up DP from my scraps folder....with a new catalog come and the changing of the colors....it is time for some house cleaning!! I am not sure which packs these two DPs are from but I do know that they are from Stampin Up. My sentiment stamp is from Verve. The main image panel is embossed with a folder from Cuttlebug. I used Pretty in Pink brads from Stampin Up and the ribbon was given to me by a friend....she know about my card making addiction so when she is given something with a pretty ribbon on it she saves it for me and says..."I know you can find some way to use this!" Today's card was made for the Color Throwdown Challenge....I stamped my flowers 3 times and cute out the petals so that the flower could have some dimension.....my leaves were outlined with Garden Green marker and then blended with a aqua painter....my background was created with Garden Green cardstock (embossed) and Soft Suede dp.....my sentiement is framed with some Hodge Podge Hardware....Thanks for looking!!

Here is my card for today's Ways to Use it challenge over at SCS and the sketch challenge for Our Creative Corner. The Ways to Us it challenge asked for "Sweet Child" images. I didn't think I was going to be able to play along because of all my stamps.....I lack kid stamps!! Then I remembered this set that I had tucked away....Crayon Kids a retired set from Stampin Up. Think it qualifies!! I paper pieced the dressed and added some brads for the buttons. I think it turned out pretty cute!! I used dp that was in my scrap pile so I am not sure the name but it is from Stampin Up! I finished the card off with some ribbon and a corduroy brad. Have a happy Easter weekend!!

Mojo Monday #132 and the SCS color combo

My card today was created for 2 challenges...the Mojo Monday sketch and the SCS color combo with a twist challenge: the twist, use a smooched flower. I just love these flowers....they are so fun to make and they look great both on a card and on a memory album page. The color combo for this week was to use Bermuda Bay, So Saffron, and Gray. I stamped the Checkerboard background on my So Saffron section of the circle and added some ink to the flower as well....the flower center was created by stamping Bermuda Bay cardstock with Bermuda Bay ink in the tiny flower stamp from Stampin Up's Tiny Tags....I also created some tags with that stamp set using So Saffron on my tag stamp and Bermuda Bay on the accents that I added to the tags....I tied them on with Linen Thread....my gray square was embossed and layered over a So Saffron ribbon. This week the Color Throwdown team is saying good by to Cathy Indelicato and she was the one to give the color combo this week.......I was inspired not only by the colors but by the butterflies this week. I have really missed playing along.....due to things here at home and then the fact that I hurt my back last week. It feel good to be back creating!! Cathy, I will miss seeing you examples each week!!!
My card base is Very Vanilla...BajaBreeze DP for my bottom half...Garden Green for my trio of squares...butterflies were cut out using my Butterfly Embosslits embossing die...decorated with alittle Garden Green ink and blue rhinestones...layers on top of some BajaBreeze ribbon. What a fun sketch......This sketch was given as a design team call over at Let's Scrap. I really enjoyed working on it.

So, this weekend I had a Scrap Fest on Saturday and between hurting my back (carrying in supplies) and help other people this is the only page I got done!! I love how it turned out though. I am thinking of framing it and giving it to my mother in law. The two pictures on this page were taken at her house in Florida. The has the best luck with bird baths. The birdies just flock to it and splash and play. I have never had any luck with bird baths.
For this page I used Kraft 12 x 12 from Stampin Up, along with Always Artichoke, DP and Ruby Red cardstock. My circle of brads was made using Vanilla brads....the stems for my flower were cut on the CM wave cutter--added knotted ribbons for the leaves.....the Ruby Red circle was embossed using my CB and an embossing folder.....the smooshed flowers were punched from an old book--I trimmed two of them so they would be smaller.....my little birdie was created with the New Stampin Up 2 Step bird punch....the title letters were cut out with my Provo Craft letter and CB....I also did alot of sponging. Today's challenge over at SCS was to use a colorful basket....either a 3D basket or a basket stamp. The cute little baskets in the example list really caught my eye and I just had to make some!! I used my Perfect Plum DP and colored in the flowers and leaves with my Barely Banana and Certainly Celery markers. I added a Certainly Celery ribbon and a silver flower charm with a punched out Barely Banana center. I think it is just too cute!!

Here is my card for this week's color challenge from the Color Throwdown team. This week we were to us Taken with Teal, Soft Sky, Tangerine Tango, and Black. I had to substitute a couple of these because I have run out of them.....but I think I got it close. My butterflies were punched out using the Martha Stewart punch and the background of the circle was created with sponges using Baja Blue, Taken with Teal, and Dusty Durango. I needed a sympathy card and to me these colors worked great to create this type of card. The sketch for this card was Wednesday's sketch challenge over at SCS. Come join the fun and play along!!

Soul Scrappers Sketch Challenge

Tiffany, one of my Soul Sisters over at Soul Scrapper, gave us this great sketch challenge. I need to make a page for my sons school album and tried to make this sketch work for that...took away the scallops, hearts, bows and flower. I replaced them with field marking, helmet and ball. I think the dp and colors made it a great masculine page. Kendall was the kicker for the JV team this year and got the nick-name, Little Boy Blue, because of his bright blue cleats. Today I rolled two challenges into one card.....the sketch challenge from Mercy's Blog and the Color Combo Challenge from SCS. I used my Janome Mini to stitch the background panels, my CB to emboss the white circle, my CB to cut out my circle, scalloped circle, and dragon fly. No stamping was done on my card today but I will probably add a stamped verse to the inside. Just depends on who I send it to and what I what to say at that time....for now it is blank. 2sketch4you sketch challenge & Embellishment Fabric Color Challenge

Here is my card for the Embellish Magazine challenge and the 2Sketch4You sketch challenge. The Embellish Magazine challenge called for Red, Blue, Green, and Kraft.....plus we were to use fabric of some sort. I used Canvas Cuts from Stampin Up of my fabric element.....my colors are: Not Quite Navy, Ruby Red, Old Olive and Kraft. The challenge picture had an Asian flair to it so I followed that and used my Oriental Painting stamp set from StampinUP! The Canvas Cuts bracket and sentiment label were given some color using the Not Quite Navy marker and then I blended the color using my Aqua Painters. The background was embossed using a folder for the Asian Bundle from Cuttlebug. I love how this card turned out. The sketch was easy for me this time and I am sure I will put it to use again. Mojo Monday Challenge.....

Here is my card for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. I used one this great silk daisy flower from Michaels for my circle element of the sketch.

I pulled the DP from my scrap folder....I know it is from Stampin Up but I am not sure which pack. The Happy Birthday sentiment and frame are from the Sale-A-Bration set, Vintage Labels. I did alot of sponging on the edges and then added the brads and ribbon as embellishment to complete the challenge.

This card is for my grandmother who just celebrated her 90th birthday. She lost her husband about a year ago and we were not sure she would make it to see her 90th but she is doing quite well...still living on her own and enjoying her trips to the senior center.

A special award from a Soul Scrapper Sister

This award was given to my by Shazza, a Soul Scrapper Sister! Thanks, girlfriend!! Now, I need to tell you 7 things about myself!! 1) I am the daughter of the Most High God....bought by His blood and living for Him the best that I can. 2) I am married to my best friend and we will be married for 21 years this July. 3) Stampin and Scrappin are my therapy!! I love creating card and memory album pages. 4) I have 2 great kids....Kendall who will be 16 in Oct. and Jordan who will be 14 in Apr. 5) I am a soccer mom.....been going to games since Kendall was 6 years old...Jordan started in the next year and we have been hard at it ever since. They are both playing JV soccer this year at the high school. 6) I lead an amazing group of ladies at my church...they are an inspiration to me and I feel so blessed to have each of them in my life!! 7) My hubby and I own and operate, Cabin Creekwood, a small resort business in the beautiful Blue Ride Mountains!! We have 9 cabins that we rent out nightly and weekly. We have so much fun working together!!

Let's Scrap Challenge: challenge 40

This is my page for the Let's Scrap challeng #40. We were to pick an old sketch from the site and flip it. Plus we were to use 2 colors, 4 papers, and 6 embellishments. I use my two favorite colors--browns and blues (actually brown and pink together are my favorite but since this page was for my son I didn't think that would work....so I went with my second favorite) I used 4 different papers...this was a bit of a challenge for me!! And I got in my 6 embellishments: Chipboard numbers, ribbbon, copper brads, copper square label hardware, copper rectangle hardware, and the tag with hardware attachment. The sketch that I flipped was ls110.....I put the right pictures on the left and the left picture on the right and I moved the empty space from the bottom to the top. There you have my flipping!!

My page will be going in my son's birthday album. I have one for each of my kids that shows what we did on there birthdays. I use Stampin Up paper, CM sticker for the title: Happy Birthday, Stampin Up HodgePodge hardware for my embellishments, and chipboard for my numbers.

Spiltcoast Stampers CAS challenge

Here is my card for today's CAS challenge to use a new and different shape-abilities. I used what most consider scraps from cutting out the Top Note Die--the outside edge that remains. Layered it on my card and then used my Embosslits Sweetest Stem die to cut out leaves, and my 5-petal punch to punch out 2 flowers. I added on of Stampin Up new epoxy brads in the center to finish off the flower. My sentiment is from Stampin Up's Sale-A-Bration set Whimsical Words.

This card was made for my dear friends who lost their 17 year old son in an automobile accident this weekend. I hurt so deeply for them during this time of tragic loss. I have been amazed and the out pouring of love from friends and the community and the peace (the kind that "passes all understanding") that has been over them. Having two teenagers myself...this has made me more aware of my need to treasure every moment and love them deeply. When my son came home and I hugged him...one of those hugs that just goes on and one...he was like, "okay mom this is not at all wierd." I told him to just allow me....it is what I needed. Hug your loved ones today and treasure the moments!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #82

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge...plus I included the SCS challenge to use the "game theme". I decided to use Creamy Carmel as my neutral color to match the Scrabble tiles. My leaves were created with the Embosslits die, the Trio flower punch was used for my flowers, and the Embosslits Butterfly die for the two butterflies....these three tools are all from Stampin Up. No stamping on this card....maybe I will come back with a stamped card for this color challenge as well....cause I really like it!!

I have been nursing my sick little girl....she has bronchitis and has missed this whole week of school!! I am getting alittle worried....even after being on an antibiotic she is still running a fever. Praying that she gets better real soon!!

Anyway...on to my card!! I used the sketch from Spiltcoast Stampers and the color challenge from ColourQ. I love this combo and thought of paisleys as soon as I saw it. My sentiment is from Pocket Silhouettes from Stampin Up!

I ran my trio of squares through my CB with my Perfectly Paisley embossing folder....added Certainly Celery ribbon to the top and Night of Navy 1/4 inch ribbon to the bottom.....my panel was created with my Paisley die cuts....added my sentiment and some brads. Today's sketch challenge for the Mojo Monday sketck made me think of this Hot Air Balloon set from VERVE. I love hot air balloons and after getting the opportunity to ride in one over Albuquerque NM, I love them even more. I paper pieced my balloon using some retired DP from Stampin Up and finished off my card with some brads. I love it when an idea pops in your head right way for a sketch....makes it alot easier!!

Pink Elephant sketch/Embellish Borders Color challenge

Good Morning....The sun is shining and the air is frigid, but it is a day that is loaded with lots of fun!! I got my card done, a baby shower to attend and friends coming for dinner!! Fun!! Fun!! My card today used the Embellish Magazine challenge and the Pink Elephant sketch challenge. For the Embellish Magazine challenge we were to use the colors: yellow, green, pink, and peach--plus add in a border of some kind. The Pink Elephant sketch was perfect for this challenge because it called for a border as well. I stamped my VERVE trees, cut them out, and attached them with a 3D glue dot. The button on top of my ribbon was made with my i-top brad maker. To finish off my card I added several gray rhinestones along the scalloped border. The girls over at SCS have changed up the Friday challenge....it is no longer a "limited supply" challenge....not many of us are very "limited" in our supplies any longer!! LOL Some of us need to build additions just to house our addiction!! LOL (guess we really shouldn't be laughing about that, huh?!?) Any way the Friday challenge is now a "Free for All" challenge and will changed up each week. So stop on by and play along.

My card this week uses Mercy's sketch that she posted on Tuesday--it worked perfect for the Free for All challenge to use texture, dp, and a color that we don't use too often. I paper piece my giraffe and added some ultra mini rhinestones, tied a bow around his neck, layered him on Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink, my base card is a pre-embossed card that says Baby Baby Baby all over it, and of course a card would not be complete without a bow!!

My card today just had to be another round card--loving them!! I used the Colour Q challenge for my color combo: Top layer of my flower is Regal Rose covered with clear chunky glitter, the bottome layer is Mellon Mambo covered in clear chunky glitter, the center is a brad from Micheal's, my leaves were punched out using my MS fern punch and Green Galore cardstock, the back-ground is Apricot Appeal DP, and the base of my card is Whisper White. Olympic color challenge plus the Mojo Monday sketch and the 2S4Y sketch

Today over at SCS we were challenged to make cards using the colors form the Olympic logo for this year. Below you will find 2 cards that I made for this challenge. One using the sketch from 2S4Y and one for the Mojo Monday Sketch. I may not be able to compete with these gifted atheletes but I can create in honor of them....so here is to all those men and women who are out there giving it their all!!

This card was made using the sketch from 2Sketch4You. My color combo is Taken with Teal, Summer Sun, and Real Red. I used a masked to stack up the birdies...added some color to them with my Stampin Up markers...punched out my sentiment using my oval punch...layered it on Summer Sun that had been punched out wit the large oval punch...added in the scallops using my MS border punch...added some ribbon to finish it off.

Today I decided to use the round sketch.....I am loving these round cards!! This card also fits the Olympic color combo....Pacific Point, and Real Red. I used my nessties to cut out each layer...the white layer I ran through my CB using the Distressed Stripes folder...my sentiment panel was also cut out with my nessties...I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point...added some butterflies that I punched out of the same DP...finished it off with some ribbon and gold half beads.

Here is my card for the sketch challenge over at 2sketch4you. It also fulfills the "use your scraps from a scrapbook page to make a card" challenge over at Let's Scrap.

My card uses the papers from Cosmo Cricket that were left after completing the 2 memory album pages below. Plus I just had to use some of the scraps to make another i-top brad...I am so loving my new toy!! The stamps that I used for the card are from VERVE stamps.
The below pages were created to help us remember our mini vacation to VA Beach in September of 2008...yeah yeah I know I am alittle behind!! And for my SNOW challenge: WISH lettering is full of bling, Nice ultra-mini brads, One photo of my beautiful daughter, and alots of white space! My background DP is from the Walk in the Park DP from Stampin Up. The lettering was hand written and there you have it!!

Mojo Monday Sketch #126

Here is my card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I used So Saffron and Soft Suede for my color combo....made another ribbon flower, using my in i-top brad maker. The only stamps I used was the sentiment by Verve and the flower center from the Stampin Up set Priceless. I am living for those moments that "take my breath away".....I hope you are too!!

This is my CAS card for today's challenge over at SCS. We were to make a card that reflected our wishes for spring. I right way thought of this DP (Razzleberry Lemonade) it makes me think of Spring....plus flowers make me think of spring....Weddings make me think of spring--thus the sentiment!! So there you have it.....my spring inspired card.
So what do you think of my new toy.....the i-top brad creator!! I love it--punch out your dp with the i-top punch and snap together using i-top brads. How cool it that---you can even use it with fabric!! I am so very excited.....I will try not to use it everyday this week!!!

VERVE Project Parade--Feb. 2010

Here is my project for this Tags, Tins, & Treats challenge over at the VERVE Blog. I got my hubby some Macadamia Coconut Coffee for Valentines day and decided that this challenge was perfect for creating a way to give it to him. I bought a glass container with a tin lid (I hope that the tin lid makes it fit into the challenge criteria) and added a ribbon around the edge and then decorated the top and the tag to match.Here is my top: used the sentiments from Verve's, Delightful and Delicious--the mug is from Stampin Up!'s, Express Yourself (needed a more manly mug instead of a tea cup)--the flourishes around the edges is from Verve's, Celebration of Thanks--the tiny heart is from Stampin Up!'s Tiny Tags.
I added some tags from Stampin Up!'s Tiny Tag set in addition to the same stamps that I used on the lid. My color combo is: Choc. Chip, Close to Cocoa, Real Red, and Whisper White--Great for a masculine project.
Here you can see the lid alittle prefect!! I can't wait to give it to him. He loves his coffee and always enjoys a new special flavor. I hope this one tastes as good as it smells!!!

We are having yet another snow day--#7 to be exact. It really is a beautiful winter wonderland!! I used my Allegro embossing folder for my background, punched my border with my new punch from Stampin Up, added some ribbon and pearls to spruce it up, stamped my sentiment, from Verve, in Basic Gray, my birdie is from Stampin Up!'s Wings of Friendship--inked with markers (Sage Shadow and Ruby Red--sorry don't have Ridinghood Red anymore), I paper pieced the wing and added a pearl for his eye. My card today was made for Shannan Teubner...she lost her husband unexpectedly at the beginning of the week. My thoughts and prayers are with her during this time of grief!!

I decided to use the SCS sketch and the ColourQ challenge for my card. The color combo this week was Regal Rose, Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa and Choc. Chip. I stamped my flower in Regal Rose ink onto Blush Blossom cardstock and cut them out--used my blender pen to blend in the colors--added some Choc. Chip and Micro beads to the center--embossed both background layers with my Leafy Branch embossing folder--stamped my sentiment and added my ribbon.

Soul Scrappers Sketch Challenge

Here is my page for the Soul Scrappers Sketch Challenge. I decided that these pictures of my nephews were perfect for this challenge. Instead of using one large picture I used one of each of the boys with me as my large picture. Scallops seemed alittle too girly so I left those off. I really did have a good time with them while their parent were out of town!! Tucker is 9, Tanner is 7, Spencer is 4, and Sawyer is 3.....so I had my hands full!! Especially since I have a 13 and 15 year old!! We did have a great time though.....scavenger hunts, Cheeseburgers and More, bike rides, movie night with pizza, trip to the Park, craft day at Micheals, and so much more!! What a fun time!!

Mojo Monday Sketch #125 & SCS color combo challenge

Here is my card to today's color combo at SCS: Dusty Durango, Sage Shadow and Choc. Chip. & the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I love this combo....at first I was not sure how to work in the Sage Shadow but then I just thought....of course green for leaves....let's go with flowers and use the green for leaves.....so here you have it!!! I love this sketch too.....the wide ribbon was perfect and the new Vintage Label stamp set provided the perfect element for the shape that was called for at the bottom of the sketch.

Both challenges offer lots of inspiration so come on over and play along!!!

Soul Scrappers Challenge

This weekend is the Grand Opening of a new Scrappers Community.....Soul Scrappers! I have been asked to be apart of their design team (thus the blinkie at the top of my page), and I am very excited to see what the future holds for this new site. There are some scrapping challenges going on if you need alittle inspiration. So come on over and play along!!

I created this page for the challenge to use lyrics to a song on your page. I love this picture of my hubby and me....what better song than Always by Atlantic Star to say all that needs to be said!! We really wanted to sing it to each other at our wedding (20 years ago) but since I am just not a singer we decided not to. Even though we did not sing it to one another it still holds a special place in our hearts.

I used the stamp set Stitched Exotics, Rich Razzleberry cardstock, ink and ribbon, a couple pieces of HodgePodge hardware....all from Stampin Up!

Here is my card for the sketch challenge over at 2sketch4you. I love this color combo: Melon Mambo, Soft Suede, Mellow Moss and Vanilla. Don't you think is looks fabulous together!?! I cut out my flowers and added a Vanilla hardware brad and then attached them with 3D pop dots. The leaves were punched out using the MS fern punch and then I glued them in behind the flowers. My dividing line--called for in the challenge--was stamped.....I thought about using ribbon but I just couldn't get it to lay nice on the round card....so I just stamped it!! I stamped the FRIENDS stamp directly on the background but then cut out another one (the F only) and attached it use dimensionals. Thanks for another fun sketch, 2sketch4you!!

This card was super simple....I embossed by background--stitched my ribbon and then gathered it alittle--attached it over some DP--stamped my sentiment and cut it out with a Nessties--attached it with some linen thread--added alittle knot and that is it!!

I used two sheets--cut the houses out from the one and raised them with pop-dots. Except that cutting out the houses which was alittle time consuming.....this card was really simple!!

I made my card with the scraps from my last two memory album pages.....that was a challenge that I played along with over at Let's Scrap. We were given a two page layout sketch for the 1st part of the challenge and then for the 2nd part we were to make a card with the scraps. I decided to also use the Mojo Sketch for my card. I love how it turned out and I think it makes a great masculine card. I may save this one for my hubby's birthday!!

Both the card and the pages were made with StampinUp!'s DP, cardstock, embossing plate, and buttons.

My Last Week......

Well, this is my last week as guest designer for the Color Throwdown Challenge. It has been so much fun creating along side these super talented women. What a honor it has been. So here is what I came up with for this weeks color combo: Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, and Elegant Eggplant. I decided to make my card using the Top Note Die--I cut out two of them, scored one across the top so that it would open easily, glued the two pieces together and there you have a Top Note shaped card. My background is some Baja Breeze DP that I still had in my stash. I cut along the edge so that it would fit on the base, creating a layer. I then stamped flourishes using Elegant Eggplant ink with stamps from Stampin Up's Priceless set. My flower was created using ribbon pieces cut about an inch long--I folded then and help them in place with a glue dot and then I attached them to the cirlce I stamped and then punched out (the stamp was also from the Priceless set) The center of the flower is a Baja Breeze Corduroy button. The leaves are punched out with the MS fern punch and of course they are punched out using Certainly Celery. The sentiment is stamped in Elegant Eggplant and then punched out using the small oval punch and then layer on matching card stock--the sentiment is from the SU set Small Script. Today my card was truely inspired by Stacey's card for the Color Throwdown challenge. I just recieved this stamp set from Stampin Up this week and I just loved her card so much that I had to get mine inked up. In honor of her inspiration I am using her Curtain Call Color Challenge and the sketch that she used from The Pink Elephant Challenge. I also just had to use my new embosslit again--love that thing--my hand just keeps reaching out and grabbing it today!! Thanks for stopping by and having a look!! CC254 challenge & OCC challenge

I created this card for this weeks color challenge over at SCS and for the sketch challenge give by Our Creative Corner. I just love how this card turned out. My new embosslit from StampinUp is what I used to create the butterflies. It makes the cutest little butterflies and the bigger one is fantastic also with some flourishes on the wings!! I am going to have so much fun with this new toy!! The color combo from SCS was to use Bashful Blue, Ruby Red, and Soft Suede--get combo!! I punched out a trio of circles--stamped them in Soft Suede, punched out using my 1 1/4 circle punch, layered that on a 1 3/8 circle out of Ruby Red, glued on my butterflies and bent up their wings, added my sentiment and then tied my ribbon. ColourQ and 2sketch4you challenges

I decided to play along with the sketch challenge from 2sketch4you and the colourQ challenge. I must say that this week has been hard to get the stamping done that I like--thus the combining for these two challenges. I hope next week is not a crazy and I can play along with all the challenges that I love. I used the scrapes (that are dwindling very quickly) of my Razzleberry Lemonade DP pack--glued my squares to Bravo Burgundy and then cut it out with my Top Note Die from Stampin Up!--used my new embosslit to cut/emboss my butterflies and then glued them on at the center so that I could bend up their wings--added the Pumpkin Pie ribbon to finish off the sketch and corner rounded two of the corners just for something different. Check out the fun and play along!!!

It is Color Throwdown Time again.....

It is time once again for the Color Throwdown Challenge!! Come on over and play along--we got great colors this week!! Just think of all the beautiful creations you can make using these colors!
I tried out this new little technique using a slot punch and ribbon.....love it!! I will be back after my club with alittle tutorial....just don't want to ruin what I have planned for them. Anyway I used a retired stamp set from Stampin Up for my flower....one of those I just have never been able to part with, and a brand new stamp set from Stampin Up's Sale-A-Bration catalog.....isn't that sentiments just the sweetest!! My base card is So Saffron and I layered my main image panel with Melon Mambo with a Old Olive wainscoating at the bottom. Inking my flower was fun--I used my So Saffron maker and then a paint brush and some Melon Mambo re-inker ink to "touch" up the edges....LOVE how this turned out!! What do you think??

Mojo Monday Sketch #122/WashingtonDC trip

I missed out on doing my sketch yesterday because we were in Washington DC with our kids. B

elow you will see some photos of our little excursion.So here you have my card for this week's sketch. I decided to use the

Delightful and Delicious set from VERVE--I just thought this DP and sketch
called for this set. I did alittle stitching and cut our that dainty little cup--used my Nessties Label set instead of an oval (hope that is okay)--added some brads and ribbon to finish it off. The DP, cardstock, brads, ribbon, and ink are all from Stampin Up.

Now on to some photos of our day out:

Since the kids were out of school yesterday we decided to take a trip to DC. We drove Vienna and took the subway into the city. We went up the Washington Monument (so glad we had our tickets ahead of time--they sold out by 1:00), toured several of the Simthosians, spent some time in the Old Post Office (including going up the clock tower and checking out the bell room) and did alot of walking!! (got my exercise for the day!!)

It was super duper windy as we waiting in line for the Washington Monument.

I am so thrilled.....

I found a new sketch site: Card Positions Systems
I decided I would play along. This sketch is actually very similar to the one that Splitcoast Stampers had this week and I could have just used that card but I decided to make my Brother-In-Laws birthday card using this sketch--plus I love a square card!! I used some retired dp from Stampin Up that coordinates perfectly with this embosslite die. My leaves are chipboard that I colored with my Stampin Up markers. I did alittle stitching and added some Choc. Chip brads for alittle embellishment. My sentiment comes from the set Small Script from Stampin Up. Thanks for looking and have a great day!!!

Today my card satisfies two challenges: SCS color combo Challenge (Pretty In Pink, Rich Razzleberry, and Choc. Chip) as well as the sketch challenge from 2sketch4you .

I used Very Vanilla as my base then layered Rich Razzleberry and Pretty in Pink after I embossed it. My main image panel was cut out using my Nessties/CB and attached using 3D glue dots. The sentiment is new from StampinUp! and was stamped using Rich Razzleberry inkMy flowers are StampinUp!'s felt flowers--I layered them and connected them with a Choc. Chip mini brad. The greenery was punched out using the MS Fern Punch.

Mojo Monday Sketch #121

Here is my card for this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I went with a color combo (Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green and Brocade Blue) that I have never used--I decided on it based on the mess that was spread out on my work space and some ribbon that I wanted to use--got my card all done and realized I didn't even use the ribbon!! Oh well, I have got to go get some housework done before the kids come home from school so this will just have to do for now!! This card also qualifies to today's cut it out challenge over at SCS. So I guess I am killing two birds with one stone!! Gotta run......Happy Stampin!!

Verve Release and Free Digi

This is the card that I made with the new Digi stamp from Verve. I used one of my pre-embossed card from Micheal's. I layered my main image on Pink Passion and Basic Black. I embellished the main image with clear and black gemstones. The heart was cut out and sponged with Pink Passion. Keep scrolling down and you will find my 5 entries for the Verve Release challenges--there are 5 of them and each one was alot of fun to create. Come on over and play along.

For this challenge we were to use any shape card as long as it was not an A2 card--I used my nessties and made my round with scallops. Works perfect for this Wreath from Verve.
Here is my 3-D goodie holder--I decided to use a sheer bag that I got some Christmas goodies in. Since it is red, I figured it would work perfectly for some Valentines goodies. I cut out the center heart and then glued the white cardstock with the digi image on it to some Rose Red DP and then cut both layers out--sponged the edges with Basic Gray--added some smokey gemstones--tied it on the little bag with some black hemp.
For this challenge we were to use chip board--I colored my black with my Stampin Up markers and used the digi image once again. My center heart is cut our and coated with Dazzlin Diamonds glitter.
This card follows the sketch challenge that Teresa Kline hosted. I used Very Vanilla, Choc. Chip and Rose Red. The stamps are from the Verve sets--Thankful Accents and Thankful Hearts. I won them last month--yippee!! I will say cutting out those tiny hearts was quite the job!!
This entry was for the color challenge: turquoise, gray and black. I love these colors together!! I used Bermuda Bay from Stampin Up! for my turquoise, as well as their DP, Basic Black and Basic Gray. I did alot of sponging on this card and then added some black pearls, ribbon, and black hemp for my embellishments.

Let's Scrap Challenge

This is a page layout that I made for the Let's Scrap Layout Challenge. I have enjoy getting this bit of inspiration each week. It is a great place to get layout ideas, see the work of other scrappers and you can if win prizes. Check them out and join the fun!! I used my camping stamp set from Stampin Up and then cut out the images. I also did some stitching--this is the first time I have stitched in my memory albums--I like it. The pages are alittle big, so it takes some careful maneuvering. I didn't have any snow pictures so I went with the camping theme. This layout shows how much fun our dog, Toby, has on our camping trips. I will say that after I caught our son feeding Toby water out of a water bottle, I made sure I new were mine was at all time!! LOL! I also including in my pages this challenge:

Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge--#47

Here is the sketch of this weeks Our Creative Corner Challenge. I also used the Limited Supply Challenge over at SCS--use white and black with a touch of red or pink, make it for someone you love and use polkadots somewhere in some form. I used my Swiss Dots folder to get my polkadots and I think the trim on the ribbon has that polkadot look to it. I also tried out the poofy flower that I found here. I love this!! I am gonna have to make some more and I am thinking about showing it to my stamp club tomorrow--they are so easy to make and look so awesome!!

Scripture Challenge meets Color Throwdown Challenge

I decided that I would play along with the Scripture Challenge over at Triple the Scraps. Patter is giving a Challenge word and then we are to find Scriptures that fit the given word. Last year I started out doing her His Holy Name challenge but fell by the wayside part way through the year. This year I am determined to finish!!! This week was my first week at guest designer for the Color Throwdown Challenge and I have fallen in love with the color combo--due largely to the fact that I fell in love the digi papers that are being given away, compliments of My Time Made Easy to two lucky winners. Actually, I plan to follow the color theme that these papers have through out the year.

The first challenge word was HOPE. The verse I picked: Jer 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plane to give you hope and a future." What a great promise from our Lord!!
The above picture is of the front cover (I bought a Circle Chipboard album from Micaheals for only $1 to use as my project for the year--my Creative Memories circle cutter makes the perfect cut for this little album). I used the verse that Patter has on your blinkie for this challenge. The butterflies are cut out from one of the digi prints and the plaid is from the same set of digi papers. I stamped Stampin Up!'s background lace stamp over my verse and then sponged around the edges. The finish off my cover page I added a ribbon and some Choc. Chip pearls to my butterflies.
The above picture is my first page--the challenge word was HOPE. I used my sticky letters for the H and pink chunky glitter. The OPE are metal charms that were a birthday gift from a friend. I stamped several flourishes from Stampin Up!'s Stitched Exoctics stamp set. I have decided to hand write all my verses this year--not something I really like to do but since this is going to be for my daughter I thought it would be nice for her to have it in my writing.

So why am I excited??? I have been asked to be the guest designer for the Color Throwdown Challenge for the Month of January!!! When I found out (and I have had to keep it to myself for a while now) I just about danced a jig!! So here are the colors that were called for:

Along with the color combo that I was also given the option of using some fantastic digi papers from My Time Made Easy. I decided that I just had to use them because they were so fantastic and fun. So here is my card showcasing one of the designs from the Shutterfly pack. The cool thing about this weeks Color Throwdown challenge is that we are giving away 2 prizes--come play along you could be a winner!! This great digi paper could be yours!!

Great digi paper to go along with this weeks color combo of Dusty Durango, Regal Rose, and Choc. Chip. I decided to change things up a bit a go with a shaped card--I used the Nessties Labels. I cut out one in Whisper White and one in Choc. Chip. I scored the top of the white one and then glued them together just above the score line so that the card opens with ease. My stamps are from the New Occasions Mini that just came out from Stampin Up. I actually used two of the new sets: Tiny Tags and Vintage Vogue. The Tiny Tags set fits perfectly in the new Mini tag punch--those the little charm tags hanging off of the "F". I used my new Janome (Christmas present from my DH) to add alittle texture. My "F" was stamped twice--once one background and then once on Regal Rose Cardstock. I cut out the the Regal Rose one and layered it on top using Deminsionals. I stamped, punched out, and sponges my little mini tags and then tied them into place using Linen thread. Here is a close up:

2sketches4you and a new technique

I finally have some time to play today so I am going back and creating some of yesterday's challenges. The sketch is from 2Sketches4You and the New Technique Challenge from SCS.

I just got a Janome for Christmas and so the technique challenge was a perfect chance to play with my new toy--paper quilting. It has taken me alittle bit of practice and patience to learn how to sew on paper but I love the look. My card today used up the last bit of my Razzleberry Lemonade DP--I will miss it!! Before anyone asks about which embossing folder I used--I didn't!! It is another of the pre-embossed square cards from Micheals. I just love these--10 different patterns, 4 of each, and the envelopes for under $10 and if you use a coupon--fantastic deal!! The only stamping that I did on this card was the sentiment "welcome baby" from the Stampin Up! set called Short and Sweet. The ribbon finished off the sketch and the charm was added to finish it off. A card is just not complete without alittle embellishment!!

Today is Tuesday and I decided to combine my Mojo Sketch Card with the Color Challenge from SCS. The colors were Bermuda Bay, Handsome Hunter, Certainly Celery, and a splash of pink. I bet you are looking and saying, "Where is the Bermuda Bay?" Look close it is there--Can you find it?? Let me know if you found it or not!! My splash of pink is pretty obvious--know what I used?? Nail art stickers!!! I was doing my daughter's nails and thought these little blooms would be perfect on cards, so I went out an bought some for my stamping stash. She wouldn't let me steal hers!! Anyway I think they are perfect for this tree from Stampin Up!'s Thoughts and Prayers stamp set.

I was so excited to see that my dear friend Teresa Kline got the privilege to create this weeks sketch--I know she is jumping up and down!! She is one talented girl!! Way to go Teresa!! You make me proud!!

Here is my card for today's inspiration challenge over at SCS.
This is the piece of jewelry from Spirit Lala that I chose to use as my inspiration. I needed a sympathy card today for a friend who just lost his father. I thought the colors of this piece worked perfect for a masculine sympathy card, and I thought about this stamp set from VERVE as soon as I saw the bird. My color combo is Really Rust, Basic Black and Very Vanilla. I wanted to add some silver in there too but I just couldn't make it work on this card.
