2Sketches4You

I have a day to play and I just can't stop myself--gotta get all the challenges in!!
This is my card for the 2Sketches4You sketch challenge. I love the idea of red, black, and white. So very elegant!! I needed some cards for Anniversarys--in general--why?? Well, at Cabin Creekwood, when we know of an anniversary we like to place a card and gift in the cabin for the couple. Sometimes those Anniversaries creep up on me and I don't have time to stop and make a card so I like to keep some on hand. Got an anniversary coming up??? Check out our cabins!! We would love to host a romantic get away for you!!

It is a fun sketch this week....so come on out and play along.

I used the new Stampin Up punch that will soon be available to all of you out there that anxious to get your hands on it!! I punched out the bird and then embossed them. The leaves are also from the new Stampin Up Punch isn't it the greatest!!

Mojo Monday Sketch Challeng & a freebie....

Here is my card for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge:
I used the free digi download that you will see below for my main panel--also used Basic Black and Whisper White from Stampin Up. The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Small Script. This is one of those cards that went together very quickly due to the fantastic paper. Finished it off with some ribbon and a snowflake brad. Very simple--yet elegant!!
I filled the sketch for my card--did this to accommodate the digi paper. Check it out below....

.......isn't it great!! They are offer this 4 Shades of Blue pack free right now over at The DigiChick. Today is the first time ever that I have tried Digi paper--I might be hooked!! That was easy and fun!!

Verve Digi Challenge

Verve is offering a free Digi between now and Dec 25. Stop by and get your today!! They are alway hosting a challenge to make a card using this freebie. Here is my card for the challenge. I used Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue and Whisper White Cardstock. I also used a Chipboard button that I had in my stash. I love the way the black ribbon and leather pops out and makes the sentiment stand out. These mittens are perfect for the weather we have going on here in VA--the biggest snow storm in 13 years!! It has been a blast!! Not getting much stamping done--snowing the snow with the family!!

Winter Wonderland!!

It is a winter wonderland out side!! We got 25+ inches of snow!! That is a really big storm for VA!! This is my 15 year old--he just flopped backwards to show how deep it is!! Our poor puppy just could not make it around--he is too short for such deep snow!!

Place settings....ssnotime118/OCC Let it snow challenge

My pastor's wife is having an open house and I made this "tents" to put beside her food items so that her quest could know what each item on her fantastic spread was. I am so tickled with how they turned out!! How did I get them to stand up?? I glued a second Nesstie that I folded in half to the bottom of the card--it perfectly sets the card upright. I am alittle nervous that she will not even get to use them--we are suppose to get a big snow storm!! It is suppose to start snowing tonight and snow all day tomorrow!! Since their open house is scheduled for Saturday evening.....well it just may not happen!!

Check out this challenge: help fill blog land with all kinds of snow!! I decided that this place card fit perfectly with the ssnotime118. Come on out and play along with all your snow buddies!!
Also check out the Our Creative Corner--Let it snow challenge!!

JOY!!

Joy!! Joy!! I am so excited.....they are calling for a white Christmas!! It is suppose to snow starting tonight and snow all day on Saturday and then the temps are not suppose to get any higher than 30--that means no melting--thus a white Christmas!! Yeah!! My card today is for the Limited Supply Challenge over at SCS and the Sketch Challenge over at Our Creative Corner. I made a 4 inch card for today--the limited supply challenge was to use gold or silver and trim your card. I added gold thread to my ribbon and I used gold foiled letters. My background was embossed using a embossing folder--no stamping, just some cool paper crafting!!

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #117

Here is my card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I have been finishing up Christmas shopping these last two days, so my card making has taken alittle bit of a back burner. I used Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, and some DP from Stampin Up. The stamps are ones that I won from VERVE. I added alittle bling to finish off the card. I hope each one of you are having a happy holiday season!!

Got the Soft Suede itch......

I am so loving this color combo!! I just love Soft Suede--will be so sad when it is discontinued at the end of this catalog--same way I hated to see Baja Breeze go!! I still have a stash of it and use it very sparingly!! I hope you like my creations--the layouts were inspired by the VivaLaVerve challenge. Check it out and play along! The pictures do not do the cards justice today because you can't see the embossed backgrounds. I used the texture plates from Stamping Up on both of these backgrounds. The White one is also sprayed with shimmer paint--can't see that either!! Oh well......

New Toys!!

This is a card (made with the Mojo Monday sketch) I made with my new toys. Here are two of my new toys:

I just got my order of some of new things that Stampin Up customers are going to have available to them.....what fun!! I just love it when new toys arrive! These great new punches from Stampin Up are easy to use and they can be locked shut for easy storage.

Here is a close up of the boarder punch (kinda blends into the DP but it is really pretty in real life) and the bird. I embossed the bird to give him some texture and added a pearl for the eye.

Color Throwdown Challenge #72

So here are the colors for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge:
I decided that the pink and blue just had to the the sky--other than using it that way, I was coming up short!! Guess if I would have had some of that cool DP it would have helped, but as it was I had to create a way to tie it all in together......
......not to bad considering I would not have put these colors together. Got to love it though--that is what makes it a challenge. I embossed my tree using a Silver Encore pad and Dazzling Glitter embossing powder (hate that you can't see the sparkles in the picture)--sponged on the blue sky while masking the moon and then sponged the pink around the edges to give it a glow--layered my main image on Silver cardstock, added some ultra mini rhinestones to accomplish the red part of this weeks challenge and then finished it off with some silver hardware. So what do you think??
My early Christmas Present:
okay so I talked my hubby into letting me have it early--my excuse--I really, really needed it to work on this wedding album that I am doing for my cousin. I have gone through 4 mono-adhesives and I am not even 1/2 way through it!! So since this was what I was asking for, I convinced him to let me have it early!! Isn't he a sweet heart!! I love it, but I will say it have taken a while to get used to it!! It is so BIG!! But it will last so much longer and I love the way the tape flows off so even and easy!! I am very excited!!

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #116

It has been over a week since I have been on my blog--you can tell it is December!! The holiday schedule has kicked in!! I will say that it has been a fun time. My husband whisked me away for some Christmas shopping and an overnight stay in Richmond at the Jefferson Hotel. It was so beautiful all decorated for the holidays!! What a way to kick off the Christmas season.
My card for this weeks sketch challenge was a fun one to make--I am still in Christmas mode!! I used my new stamps from Verve that I won this month. Punched out some snowflakes, added some Choc. Chip pearls, and did alittle embossing. Oh and of course we had to tie on some ribbon!! Merry Christmas!!
Here is the sketch for the week and this time they are having a contest with a give away, so check it out and play along!!

OCC sketch challenge

Here is my card for this past week's sketch challenge
I did not stamping--all images are from a Simply Scrappin set from Stampin up. I use Choc. Chip ribbon for my hangers and vanilla brads for the centers. The header is a Simply Scrappin piece as well--and isn't that wide striped Choc. Chip ribbon oh so very pretty!!

Mini Pizza Box for Number 4......

Number 4 for the Verve challenge was to make a pizza box......these are so much fun and they make great gift packaging for a piece of jewlery or small gift! I made mine with a snowy scene and added some glitter to make it shine--the edges were embossed with my new borders embossing folder.

Number 3........V-E-R-V-E embellishments

What does that mean?? Use an embellishment to fit the letters in VERVE!! I used the letters: R ribbon, E for embossing powder, and V for vintage hardware. When I first read it I thought we had to use each letter--I was thinking that will be one decked out card!!! Then I realized we could use the letters of our choice! Fun challenge.....check it out!!

Number 2......sketch challenge

The second challenge for Verve Release Challenges was to use the given sketch. I love a sketch challenge....one of my favorites!! We were also suppose to make it a thank you card. I chose a metal tag that says Thanks!

Challenge Number 1.....color challenge

The 1st Challenge for the Verve Release Party was a Color Challenge: use Turquoise, Olive, Black and White. I am not a fan or Turquoise and I definately don't like it with Olive but that is what makes it a challenge. Considering the color choices....I think it turned out pretty good!!

Gift Card Challenge.....Number 5

Here is a glimpse at the inside......

Here is my gift card holder. I used this template to make mine. They are so easy to make and they look spectacular!! Just add alittle stamping and some embellishments!!

AIMOOBAROO--be inspired!!

This is the inspiration piece for today's challenge--I love these fabric covered buttons!! You can find them at aimoobaroo!
My card also fits the Limited Supply Challenge from yesterday--make it a tall/long card. I stamped my card with the flowers from Thoughts and Prayer--a current Stampin Up set and the sentiment is also from a current Stampin Up set--Wonderful Words. I layered my my tag on Night of Navy. My base card is Whisper White with a half layer of Bashful Blue. The flowers were stamped in Night of Navy and ultra mini brads were added to the center of each flower. I finished off the tag with a Jumbo Grommet and some ribbon. Thanks for stopping by!!

Project Parade!!

Need some cute Christmas gift ideas.....Hop on over to the Verve blog and be inspired!! Over the last several day they are having a Project Parade and you can see all kinds of neat ideas. Here is a little Christmas project that I am working on.This cute little basket is made with Stampin Up!'s Basket and Blooms die cut. It is really the coolest thing because all the pieces you need are cut all at once--including the flower that I have mounted on the front. Fill it with a candle, candies, gift card, jewelry or whatever that little small something is that you are giving--it will be a gift inside of a gift!! Fantastic--who doesn't love that!!

OCC sketch challenge

Here is the sketch challenge from Our Creative Corner:
I am once again cleaning out my scrap pile--the roof and door are from a retired simply scrappin set. My log cabin was created by embossing my paper with the destressed stripes folder, the door was a tag from the set that I just cut off the top. My Not Quite Navy background was embossed to give it that snowy night feel. I finished it off with snowflake brads and a gold brad for the door knob. Does it remind you of a cabin in the woods?? I think so....kinda like the ones we have here in the Blue Ridge Mountains!!! Check them out--maybe even come an visit us!!
Thanks for stopping by--I hope you are warm and cozy today!! (Here it is rainy and dreary!!)

Color Throwdown Challenge #69

This is the color challenge for this weeks Color Throwdown--come on over and play along
It is time to throw down some color........this week the call was for Dark Red, Olive, Vanilla, and Choc. Chip. Super easy colors for me to work with--love them together!! I needed a birthday card for this weekend so I created this one with my good friend in mind.

Right now I am in the mode of using up some of the great DP's that I have laying around--scraps and stuff! I pulled out what was left of my Pina Colada Simply Scrappin set and created this collage of flowers. The background DP is from that set also but it was white and since I needed vanilla I sponged over it with Close to Cocoa and then finished off the edges in Choc. Chip. The only stamping on this card is the sentiment and it is from Verve stamps. The ribbon, corduroy buttons brads, and papers are from Stampin Up!

Thanks for stopping by and having a look--happy stamping!!

Another SCS sketch challenge....

Here is the sketch for today's challenge over at SCS.........
And here is my card......Not Quite Navy, Basic Gray, Whisper White.......those are my colors and the DP is from my stash of scraps. I can't remember the names but I know that it is some of Stampin Up's retired papers. For embellishments, I chose corduroy brads, mini brads and ribbon. The white panel is simply embossed flowers with brads as the center. Well nighty nighty for now--I need to call it a night!!

I am so excited!!

My card got featured in the Color Throwdown Challenge from last week--check it out!!

It is a Mojo / Color combo challenge all rolled into one

This is what you get when you combine a Mojo Monday sketch and a Color challenge from SCS. I love how it turned out!!
The color combo was--Real Red, Choc. Chip, and Always Artichoke. Always Real Chocolate!! Yummy!! I sounds yummy but not the easiest for me!! I had a hard time with the green--seems to dark for the Real Red and the Choc. but I must say I do like how it turned out!! I am thinking that is why they call it a challenge!! It makes you work outside of your comfort zone--thus expanding your creativity!! And that is a good thing--right??

Thanks for stopping by--have a great week!! Happy Stamping!!
