Mojo Monday #84

I have so missed my time blogging--one of those crazy springs with no extra time!! But today is a new day and I am taking some time to stamp with my daughter.  So here is my Mojo Monday sketch card.  I used Raspberry Tart DP from Stamping Up! and Circular Sayings from VERVE.  I had a bit of a challenge with this sketch but I really do like how it turned out.  These new jumbo grommetts were perfect for this sketch--I tied my ribbon around the grommett before attaching it to the cardstock.  The flower on the main image panel is cut out from a sheet of DP.  I hope you enjoyed stopping by today and may you be blessed with a fantastic week.

Happy Mother's Day

Today my card is a combinations of the SCS color challenge and Julee's Mojo Monday's sketch challenge.  My hubby and I were away all weekend and it has taken a while to get back into the swing of things.  Stampin' has had to take a back burner--but I had to take alittle time today!! This Mother's day card was created using stamps from Inkadinkado and a retired Stampin Up set called Mother and Child.  I used the colors: Pirouette Pink, Rose Red, Basic Gray.  The tag was punched out useing the CM tag punch and then stamped.  The flowers to the left are stamp with gray in on pink paper and then cut out--the actual rose portions were stamped with Rose Red ink onto Rose Red cardstock--cut out and then layered.  The sentiment on the tag reads: All that I am or hope to be, I owe to my mother.  This is a great quote from Abraham Lincoln and I completely agree with what he says!!  Here to all the moms and moms to be!! Happy Mother's Day!!

Verve April Release Week Challenges

Here are my 4 cards for this weeks challenges from Verve in celebration of thier new releases that will unvailed on Friday night.  Go to the Verve Blog to see some sneak peaks.  All 4 of the challenges were fun.  #1 was the hardest one for me and when there was not sketch for #4 I just sat there for a while trying to decided what to do.  I got used to the others being sketch challenges and it just kinda threw me for a loop.  I did get all 4 of them done!! Yeah!! Maybe I will be one of the lucky winners this time.....I have my fingers crossed!!  Even if I don't get lucky this time I can go shopping over at the VERVE store and so can you!!

Mojo Monday Sketch #82

Here is my card for Monday's Mojo Sketch. Julee created another great sketch to help us get our Mojo on! This plain jane stamp is just too cute--I used my marker and just inked the "do you ?" for my single sentiment.  The star brads worked perfect to embellish the stamp--I also added a brad to my button.  I love how it turned out--I am thinking I should make some more in other colors to have on hand!!

VivaLaVerve

I finally got to stamp alittle today--it has been on of those weeks!!  I decided to make a card for the VivaLaVerve challenge over at SCS.  I loved this sketch and this week the twist was a color combination.  At first I was like--YUCK!! (Summer Sun, More Mustard and Baja Breeze) But as I started to play around with it I fell in love with it.  I think it has a vintage feel to it.  I used Choc. Chip as my neutral.  The flowers are from Verve's Beautiful You set.  I stamped them 3 times--one on Summer Sun and 2 times on More Mustard--I used a More Mustard flower that I had cut out--layered the inside pieces with the Summer Sun flower that I cut apart--and then finished off the flower with the second More Mustard flower center.  It was alot of cutting but I love the way it turned out.  On top of the cut out center I added a brad to tie in with the Baja Breeze.  The flowers are layered on a Baja Breeze panel that was Cuttlebugged and sponged. I layered that on some patterned paper separated by some Choc. Chip ribbon.  All the edges are sponged in Choc. Chip.  I will just have to use this sketch again!! I loave how it turned out!! 

Mojo Monday #81

Here is my card for the Mojo Monday sketch that Julee created for our stamping pleasure!! This one was alittle hard for me but I do like how it turned out!!

I got out my Cameo Coral and decided I really wanted to use some of my retired DP and create another Mother's Day card. I used my new tag punch from Creative Memories--my sentiment and smaller tag are stamped on DP and then cut/punched out--the sentiment is layered on the new scalloped oval punch from Stampin'Up!--the main image tag was stamped with Cameo Coral and Choc. Chip--I added ribbon and brads to finish off the sketch--I also stamped some matching leaves in the corners of the inside of the card. It doesn't show that great in the photo.

I can't believe that it has been Friday of last week since I posted somthing here on my blog--it has been a crazy week!! I am getting ready for my daughter's 13 birhtday!! I can't believe my youngest is a teenager!! Maybe next week I can get back on track with stamping and blogging!!

Easy as 1, 2, 3.....

Today's challenge over at SCS is a limited supply challenge. Here is what the challenge was: 1 color cardstock (Rose Red), 2 patterned paper prints (Raspberry Tart) and 3 embellishments (2 brads plus 1 ribbon equals 3 embellies). I really like how my card turned out.

I tried something new today (may have done it in the past but it has been forever ago) I stamped my sentiment and then covered it with a post-it note--I then stamped my images and sponges all athe edges--removed the post-it note and had a nice clean line seperating the sentiment from the images--I really like this look!! Today is a rainy rainy day so I may just have to stamp all day!! You just might see me back here again today!!

Jewelry Color Inspiration #30

Stacey has given another great jewery challenge--with the color combination of: YoyoYellow,Bravo Burgandy, Going Gray, and whisper White!

I decided to use the sketch challenge from yesterday because I liked it so much. The top panel is embossed using the new embossing folder from Stampin'Up!--Manhatten Flower. The bottom panel is Basic Gray DP--the main image panel is Basic Gray layered on Basic Black and then embossed--also using the Manhatten Flower folder--the flowers are stamped in Bravo Burgandy--the Rose on Whisper White and the 2 smaller flowers on Yo Yo Yellow. I ran my aqua painter over the cut outs and then sponges the edges and the tops--I finished it off with a organza ribbon. Let me know what you think......

Jumbo Wheel Convertion??!!??

I had heard about converting the Stampin'Up! Jumbo wheel into a mega collection of sentiment stamps but I was not sure how to do it or what to use. I decided to find the stuff and see if I too couldn't convert my wheel into a bundle of sentiments. It was easy!! I thought you might like to see how it is done and find out where to get the needed supplies. First of all you will need the Friendly Words jumbo wheel from Stampin'Up! Where do you get that--from your Stampin'Up! demonstrator. If you don't have one I would be happy to help you out with an order.

Using an exacto knife, make a slit in the seam of your wheel and peel it off all the way around. You will have a long piece of red rubber.

Cutting very very carefully, seperate each of the sentiment pharses apart from one another.

See all the different pharses and words you get when they have been cut apart!?!?

Next you will need some Mounting foam so that you can use your sentiments on acrylic blocks. I found my at the Hand Craft House in Madison. I talked my husband into stopping there today after we took his mother to the airport. He was a good sport and we had fun--or at least I did. They are so helpful at the Hand Carft House--it is worth the 1 1/2 trip over there. They suggested that I use this EZ Mount Stamp N Stor. It works great!! If you don't live close enough to stop in and give them a visit--visit them on their website.

Pull back the protective layer and place you cut out rubber on--pressing very firmly.

Carefully cut the sticky foam as close the the rubber as possible.

Pull off the other protective edge and grab an acrylic block and mount.

Here you have it!! Now it is time to stamp your sentiment on a card.

Works just like the wood mounted stamps that Stampin'Up! sells. I threw together this quick little sample!!

New Goodies--Again!!

Here is my card for today's sketch challenge over at SCS and yesterday's color challenge from SCS as well. Not only am I playing with the challenges I am showcasing the new embossing folder from Stampin Up. At this point they only have one but I love it!! I matches with the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. I think both of these items are a must have!! I embosed both the PP panel and the CC panel and sponges the edges very generosly--the rose is stamped 4 times and cut and sponges and layered in pieces--I tried to curl up the edges so that it has some extra dimension as well--finished it off with a ribbon and a trio of brads.
