Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge & Paper Players Challenge

These two challenges paired up perfectly today. The Paper Players challenge was...Something New...what says NEW better than a wedding!!  The beginning of a "happily ever after"!!  And the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge never disappoints...Julee always has just fun sketches!!  So...thanks to these two challenges for being the inspiration for this card.  The navy and gold ribbon (that I once again snagged from our weekly office floral arrangement) was the deciding factor on my color combination.  I love Stampin Up's Blooming Hearts die for wedding cards...it is just so elegant!!!

Sailing Home By Stampin Up

I have been having so much fun playing with the Sailing Home stamp set and matching dies from Stampin Up.  So many different looks can be created from one stamp set.  This first card was created for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I also included some stamped images using the Friend Like you stamp set.  












This next card was created for the Sunday Stamps color challenge to "keep it neutral"...using gray and black color hues.  On this card I just used the sail boat from Sailing Home and included the Friendly Silhouette die...don't you just love those palm trees!!

As You See It #216 & Just Us Girls #517

Today's card was made for two challenges...the work challenge from Just Us Girls (Snowflakes) and the recipe challenge from As You See It.  I am including a close up picture of my card so you can see the dry embossing element (I embossed the snowflake vellum after I cut it out).  The background was stamped in silver metallic ink even though it just looks kinda gray in this photo.  I promise...I did use all of the elements!!  

#bethegift: smiley face + happy words day!  Leave a smiley face and some happy words out in the world today on a windshield, a mirror, in a pocket.

Inspired By Challenge #105

Today I am playing along with the Inspired By challenge...#105.  I love the gray wintery look of this image.  

This stamp set was originally from Stampin Up but has been retired for several years now.  Same with the coffee die from Verve.

Global Design Project #221

The current challenge at Global Design Projects is a color challenge.  The color combo is...Early Espresso, Shaded Spruce & Cherry Cobbler.  I used Stampin Up's Friend Like You stamp set,  all three ink colors, and Early Espresso cardstock.  The base of my card was embossed using the 3D Basket Weave embossing folder from Stampin Up.

Visiting Librarian...What an Honor!!

What an honor to be a Visiting Librarian at the Library Challenge!!  This unique challenge site has become one of my favorites!!  Since I love books, reading, and libraries about as much as I love creating cards,  this challenge is just perfect for me!!  The Library Challenge is a creative challenge that picks a book and then challenges participants to create a card inspired by the cover, the title, or the story.  

As a visiting librarian, I have been asked to pick a book and create a sample.  My book selection for this challenge is....Where the Red Fern Grows.  An American classic that will make you cry at least once!!  Nothing pulls at your heart like the bond between a boy and his dog!!  I love the colors and silhouette of this cover....while I don't have any dog or kid silhouette stamps to create the same scene I am choose the colors and the silhouette theme as my inspiration.  We hope you will come play along with us!!!  We look forward to seeing what inspiration you receive from this challenge.

Color Throwdown Challenge #574

Here is my take on the color challenge from the Color Throwdown team.  This week's colors were brown and red...classy!!  I used Stampin Up's Sheltering Tree stamp set with Chocolate Chip and Real Red inks.  Finished off my project with some torn Chocolate Chip yardstick and Real Red bakers twine.
