A Set of Sympathy Cards

 

4 challenges inspired today's set of cards...

TGIF Challenges // #tgifc570 ...A "one sheet wonder" challenge!!  I used a 6x6 double sided piece of designer paper from Stampin Up to create my "one sheet wonder" set of card.  I created a set of 4 sympathy cards using the templet pictured for this challenge.

The Paper Players // #PP779 ...A "game board" challenge!!  For this current challenge the PP team has us playing on a tic-tac-toe board.  My winning three in a row for each of these 4 cards runs across the top of the game board: die cut, ribbon, and sentiment.

Allsorts Challenge // #AC846 ...A theme challenge!!  The theme for this current challenge is IT'S SPRING TIME!!  These blue flowers have me thinking of spring and new life...why is it that we us flowers (a sign of life) pm sympathy cards (a sign of death)!?!  Most items used to create these 4 sympathy cards are from Stampin Up...I did use a Verve sentiment on card #1 and card #4, and a Tim Holtz die on card #1 and card #2.

Addicted to Stamps & More // #ATS&M514 ...A theme challenge!!  The theme for this current challenge is ANY OCCASION!!  It is a sad day when the occasion calls for a sympathy card, but I am hoping these cards will bring a bit of comfort to this occasion that is full of sadness.

Time Out Challenges // #TOC309 ...A theme challenge!!  IN THE CLEAR is the theme for this current challenge!!  The Time Out team wants us to use "clear" items on our card.  I used a window sheet to create the shaker portion of my card.

Retro Rubber Challenge // #rrcb268 ...A retro rubber challenge with a sketch!!  By retro they mean that we are to use a stamp that is over a year old.  This little sail boat fits the retro element for sure...it came out in 2013!!  It is from Stampin Up's Moving Forward stamp set that was specially made to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House.

Just Us Girls // #JUG816 ...A stencil challenge!!  I used Smokey Slate ink to stencil my cloud and the edges of today's card.  The smokey stenciled edges and cloud give the "trouble waters" feel I was trying to create for this "you're gonna get through this storm" card!!  This is a stencil that I won as a prize for one of my cards.

Inspire.Create.Challenge // #ICC211 ...A color challenge!!  Yellow, aqua, and pink are the colors called for in this challenge.  I used Stampin Up's Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, and Melon Mambo for my trio of colors.

Festive Friday // #FF0206 ...An "inspo list" challenge!!  From the inspo list honoring National Unicorn Day, pick 3 of the 10 elements to use on your card.  I picked...bright colors, gems, and color twine.

Inspired By Challenges // #IB381 ...A "photo inspired" challenge with an optional sketch!!  The photo has us inspired by BUNNIES!!  I picked this fun dust bunny for my bunny and used the optional sketch.  It wasn't until I was posting this card that I realized it looks like there has been added a color palette added the challenge...sorry I missed that and my colors don't line up.

Just Add Ink // #JAI782 ...A "choose two" challenge!!  From the elements given, choose at least two to use on your card.  I chose 3...rhinestones, buttons, and twine.

Addicted to Stamps & More // #ATS&M513 ...A theme challenge!!  BIRTHDAY is the theme of this current challenge.  Happy Day...our day...a vintage bike to celebrate you!

Freshly Made Sketches // #FMS729 ...A sketch challenge!!  This sketch was perfect for showcasing the collection of challenges I wanted to pull together in today's card.

Little Red Wagon // #LRW851 ...A theme challenge!!  STILL ROCK AND ROLL TO ME...a vintage or retro challenge!!  When I saw this challenge in my news feed, I right away thought of this vintage bike stamp that is retired from Stampin Up.

Can You Handle The Pressure // 28MAR26 ...An embossing challenge with an optional twist!!  The theme for this current challenge...KIDS!!  While this card has a vintage feel, I was thinking about how a kid would love seeing someone ride a bike like this and depending on the child even want to give it a try.  I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder as a backdrop for this vintage bike and added some ink to give it a vintage feel.

Alphabet Challenge // 20MAR26 ...An ABC challenge!!  X is for Xray...use black and white only!!  I almost forgot to add this challenge for this black and white card...the whole reason I only used black and white!!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge // #AHSC674 ...A sketch challenge!!  This sketch was perfect for showcasing all of the challenges that I am playing along with today.

Hand Stamped Sentiments // #HSS484 ...A color challenge!!  The colors called for in this challenge are Soft Seafoam, Cloud Cover, and Misty Moonlight.  A perfect combo for a baby card.

Addicted to CAS // #304 ...A "code word" challenge!!  The code word for this current challenge is STRIPES.  Perfect for the sketch challenge from AHSC and I kept it clean and simple with lots of white space and just simple stamping and layering.

CAS Colours & Sketches // #581 ...A sketch challenge this go round!!  This was a fun sketch of a kids birthday card.  My grandson will love this little froggy card.

Cut It Up // #352 ...A die cut challenge with a theme!!  GREEN is the theme for this current challenge!!  A little bit of Old Olive and Granny Apple Green and some rhinestones.  My die choice was Stampin Up's stitched square die and stitched circle die.

Colorful Options // MAR2026 ...A monthly color challenge!!  The color choice for the month of March is GREEN!!  Green ink, green papers, and green rhinestones!!

Love Those Pretty Little Papers // MAR2026 ...A monthly designer papers challenge with an optional twist!!  The optional twist for the month of March...CIRCLES!!  This designer paper from Stampin Up fit this challenge perfectly.

Double Trouble Challenge // #212 ...A "Thing 1, Thing 2, and Thing 3" challenge!!  Thing 1 wants us to follow a "Paw-some" recipe...3 colors (Real Red, Early Espresso & Creamy Carmel), 2 images (used 2 of the 3 donkey images from Stampin Up's Darling Donkeys set), and 1 sentiment (also from Darling Donkeys)...CHECK!!  Thing 2 wants us to use the sketch from Try A Sketch On Tuesday #691...CHECK!!  Thing 3 wants us to include a 4 legged animal...CHECK!!  Donkeys don't have paws but they do have 4 legs!!

Try A Sketch On Tuesday // #TSOT691 ...A sketch challenge!!  The TSOT team is pairing up with the Double Trouble challenge and this sketch works perfectly for using their recipe.

The Paper Funday Challenge // MAR2026 ...An "anything goes" challenge with an optional theme!!  The theme for this current challenge is FUR or FEATHER.  Do donkeys have fur or hair?!?  I am sure it is considered hair but since it is an anything goes challenge it works!!
