New Challenge @ Sunday Stamps

 Today begins a new challenge...

Sunday Stamps // #SS289  ...A photo inspired color challenge!!  Use at least 3 of the 5 colors from the color palette.  I love these warm earthy colors and look forward to seeing your creations for our new challenge. 

For my card I used pieces from Tim Holtz's idea-ology Field Notes packet.  I picked out the mushrooms (because our photo was of mushrooms) and tickets that matched our color combo.  I love how it turned out.  Now it is your turn...hop on over to the Sunday Stamps blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of the design team.  Can't wait to see your projects!!

Make the Cards Challenge // #60 ...A technique challenge!! The technique show-cased for their current challenge...Black card stock background.  This was perfect for my collage of mushrooms.

Global Design Project // #GDP351 ...A sketch challenge!!  This was a tag sketch and it reminded me of some tag cards I acquired somewhere along the way.  Perfect for this challenge!!

Inspire.Create.Challenge // #122 ...An inspiration challenge!!  Our inspiration was a card by Denita Wright-Smee.  I used the layout of her card as a layer on my tag card.

Happy Monday From Chicago

 I am so enjoying the new baby snuggles here in Chicago.  Our daughter's family is doing great and adjusting well to their new roles...it is especially fun watching our (not quite 2 year old) grand daughter take her big sister role so seriously.

Make the Cards // #59 ...A sketch challenge!!  I liked this sketch so much that I used it again!!  It was the perfect base for this little stack of books.

Time Out Challenge // #218 ...A quote challenge!!  From a given quote, find your inspiration for a card.  For me...books!!  Because you need a pile of books for reading!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #700 // Global Design Project #350

3 challenges inspired today's card...

Color Throwdown // #ctd700 ...A color challenge!!  The trio of colors for this challenge:
yellow, orange, and brown.  I used Stamin Up's Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, and Chocolate Chip.

Global Design Project // #GDP350 ...A sketch challenge!!  For the circle, I masked off the card and sponged it using Chocolate Chip ink.  The perfect backdrop for my basket of fall florals.

Make the Cards Challenge // #58 ...A technique challenge!!  Fancy Folds...that is the technique we are asked to use for this challenge.  I used the diaper fold for my basket.  Directions for this fancy fold can be found here over at Splitcoast Stampers.

Less Is More // #LIM466 ...A theme challenge!!  The theme for this challenge is MASCULINE!!  Here is my "baby boy" card in brown and yellow.

Dad Jokes!! New Challenge @ Shopping Our Stash

 Today begins another challenge over at Shopping Our Stash...

Dad Jokes #472

Shopping Our Stash // #SOS472 ...Dad jokes!!  That is the theme for our new challenge that begins today.  We hope you will shop your stash,  join the fun and play along with us.  For my card, I used the tear off sheet from a Dad Joke Calendar in our office (these little sheets usually end up in the trash instead of my stash but not this time!!)...stamped "Dad" in Crushed Curry over the joke, added die cut letters to spell Jokes, added a "Happy Father's Day" sentiment, and then finished it off with a black hemp knot.  We can't wait to see what you come up with from your stash for our "Dad Jokes" challenge!!

Shopping Our Stash Begins a New Challenge Today

Today begins a new challenge...

Shopping Our Stash // #SOS471 ...Make mine a tall one!!  Create a slimeline card using up some of your stash.  For my card I used some hemp that was leftover from a macrame project my daughter made while she was visiting.  She left a wad of it on my work table and said..."Mom, I'm sure you can find a great way to use this on a card."  I hope you will join the fun and play along with us.  I look forward to seeing what you find rummaging through your stash.

Time Out Challenge // #214 ...A quote challenge!!  The quote is from Steve Martin, "A day without sunshine is, you know, night.  A perfect quote for a sympathy card...especially with the silhouette of trees and a sun peeking through.

Just Add Ink // #JAI604 ...A CASE challenge!!  For this challenge they want us to CASE one of our own cards.  I decided to CASE the card I made for the new challenge that begins today at Shopping Our Stash.  I used the same color scheme, added my sentiment on a banner, and used the same die, but created a standard size card instead of a slimline card.  See today's first card...that is the one I am CASEing.

Festive Friday // #FF109 ...An inspo list challenge!!  For this challenge we a given a list of 10 words in honor of World Bee Day!!  The challenge is to use 3 of the words from the inspo list on your card.  From the list I picked: bee, hive, and hexagon.  Happy World Bee Day!!

Global Design Project // #GDP343 ...A theme challenge!!  Beautiful bugs is the theme for this current challenge!!  I am on a bee kick...I think this past week I have made at least 3 bee cards.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge // #AHSC472 ...A sketch challenge!!  I just couldn't resist making another card using this sketch because it is just so cute!!  So here is a "take two"!!

A 2nd card inspired by 2 challenges...

Make the Card // #55 ...A technique challenge!!  The technique that is spotlighted for this challenge...two designer papers.  I use not only two designer papers but also the wedding invitation for last nights wedding that we attended.  I love creating wedding cards from their invitation...makes for a nice keepsake.

Paper Craft Crew Challenge // #PCC471 ...A sketch challenge!!  This sketch worked perfectly for using parts and pieces of the original wedding invitation (fabric wrap/wheat steams/wax seal/date from invite).
