New Challenge @ Shopping Our Stash

 

Today begins a new challenge at...

Shopping Our Stash // #SOS520 ...A "use from your stash" challenge!!  The theme for this new challenge is "Mama Mia"...we would like to see cards honoring the women in your life.  From my stash, I used to stamp sets that have long ago been retired.  The Penned & Painted set of florals from Stampin Up, and the Mother's Day sentiment from Verve stamps (A company that is sadly no longer in business).

As You See It Challenges // #AYSI321 ...A color challenge!!  The colors called for in this challenge are Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Bubble Bath, and Daffodil Delight.  A perfect color combination for an array of florals.

Color Hues // #TCH85 ...A color challenge!!  Pink & Yellow are the two colors called for in this current challenge.  My take on this color challenge offers several shades of pink along with a splash of yellow at the center of each flower.

The Paper Players // #PP686 ...A "clean & simple" theme challenge!! SPRING FLOWERS is the theme of this CAS challenge!!  Stampin Up's Penned & Painted stamp set offers up a perfect spring flower!!

Cupcake Inspirations // #CI592 ...A cupcake inspired challenge!!  For this challenge we are to be inspired by the photo of cupcakes...FLOWERS!!  My inspirations was the peachy pink color of the flowers on this cupcake.

New Challenge @ Cardz 4 Guyz #C4G343

 

Today begins a new challenge at...

Cardz 4 Guyz // #C4G343 ...A masculine theme challenge!!  DOGS OR PUPPIES...the theme for this new challenge that begins today.  Crazy, but I have only one dog stamp!!  And this stamp was bought years ago when I was asked to make a set of cards with this type of dog on them.

Now it is your turn to create a masculine card with a dog or puppy theme.  We can't wait to see how this challenge inspires you.  For additional inspiration, hop on over to our blog and check out the creations from the rest of the design team.

Sketch~N~Scrap // #SNS561 ...A sketch challenge!!  This was a fun sketch with lots of layers and and elements.  I used both sides of some new gingham paper that I just got from Stampin Up...this Pecan Pie paper was perfect for creating a masculine card using this sketch.

Card #2 was inspired by 3 challenges...

TGIF Challenges // #TGIF464 ...An inspiration challenge!!  My flowers kinda overwhelmed my gray stripes in the background...but they are there.

As You See It // #AYSI319 ...A "speed" challenge with a flower theme!!  A speed challenge means that the card needs to be made in under 10 minutes.  The stitched die rectangle was sitting on my pile of pieces & parts...cutting out but never used used.  So all I did was ink it up and glue it together!!  7 minutes!!

Retro Rubber Challenges // #rrcb226 ...A "retro rubber" challenge with a flower theme.  Retro, meaning that the stamp we use needs to be at least 1 year old.  This Penned & Painted set from Stampin Up came out in 2016...very retro indeed!!

 Card #1 inspired by 2 challenges...

Try Stampin On Tuesday // #TSOT596 ...A sketch challenge!!  With and optional twist to use "sweets".  So out came my Tasty Trucks stamp set. (retired Sale-A-Bration set from Stampin Up) I love the tiny cupcakes...they are the sweetest.

INKspirational Challenges // #284 ...A technique challenge!!  Stitching--Real or Faux!!  I used both...real stitching is required to make these ribbon flowers (I know you can't see it but it is there creating those gathers) and faux stitching using Stampin Up's Stitched Shaped dies.

Card #2 inspired by 2 challenges...

Triple B Challenge // March 2023 ...A birds, blooms, and/or butterflies challenge!!  I picked blooms for my card.  Stamped my sentiment, masked it, and then stamped a collage of blooms using Stampin Up's Penned & Painted stamp set.

{PIN}spirational Challenge // #299 ...A Pinterest challenge!!  Use the given Pinterest photo as inspiration for a birthday & flowers themed card.

Cardz 4 Guyz // #C4G296 ...A masculine challenge with a wildlife theme!!  Today begins a new challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz...we want to see your masculine cards that showcase wildlife in some way!!  I picked deer for my wildlife...what guy doesn't love a deer!!  We can't wait to see what kind of wildlife card you come up with.

Sketch & Scrap // #SNS217 ...A sketch challenge!!  I just stumbled upon this site while commenting on a card and decided I should play along!!  So I decided to use their sketch as my inspiration for the wildlife card I needed.

TicTacToe Challenge // #tttc161 ...A game board challenge!!  My winning three in a row run across the bottom of the board.  I picked floral (Stampin Up's Penned & Painted stamp set), embellishment (ultra mini pearls & ribbons), and lace (glittered lace roll sticker) for my winning three in a row.

Just Us Girls // #JUG632 ...A trend challenge!!  The trend being hightlighted this week is...shaped cards.  I was gifted a set of tag shaped cards...this week seems like a good week to break them out and play with them.

Just Add Ink // #JAI603 ...A just add challenge!!  The week the just add is a color combo.  Mint Macaroon, Blushing Bride. and Rich Razzleberry are the colors called for in this current challenge.

Retro Rubber // #rrcb182 ...A theme challenge!!  The theme for this challenge is flower power.  As always with their challenges they aske that we use a retro stamp set (must be over a year old).  I used Stampin Up's Penned & Painted set that came out in 2016.

Hand Stamped Sentiments // #HSS368 ...A color challenge!!  The color combo for this challenge is: Rich Razzleberry, Cinnamon Cider, and Old Olive.  

Global Design Project // #GDP303 ...A theme challenge!! The current theme is FLOWER POWER!!  Nothing to distract from the flower on this card...kept it very CAS!!  No layers, no embellishments, nothing extra just ink and stamps!!

Retro Rubber // #rrcb164 ...An anything goes challenge!!  The catch is you have to use a stamp set that is over a year old.  This set came out in Stampin Up's 2016-2017 catalog, so it qualifies as being retro!!  As far as the anything goes...this could be a CAS card, a single layer card, an only use ink card, or like the above challenges a theme or color challenge card.  You decide because...anything goes!!

Just Us Girls Challenge #562 & Sunday Stamps Challenge #244

 Today's card was inspired by 2 challenges...

Sunday Stamps #244...A sketch challenge!  The Sunday Stamps teams offers up a simple yet elegant sketch for this current challenge.

Just Us Girls #562...No Line Water Coloring!!  I had to mull this one over for a while!!  I decided that Stampin Up's Penned and Painted stamp set would work perfect for this challenge.  I just didn't use the penned part of the stamp set!!  I inked my stamps and then spritzed them with water to get the watercolor look.

 

#bethegift challenge:  Take a photo of anything you see that reminds you of someone and sent it their way.  It is a fun way to say "thinking of you"!

Less Is More Challenge #422

This card was created for the Less Is More Challenge.  The challenge this week was to create a card using both a solid image and an outlined image.  Stampin Up's Penned and Painted seemed like the perfect set for pulling this off.  

                            

Color Throwdown Challenge #595 & Freshly Made Sketches #437

Turquoise...Black...White

This color combo from the Color Throwdown challenges stumped me for a while, but I love how it turned out.   The sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches was also part of the inspiration behind this card.
  
I used Stampin Up's So Many Shells stamp set for the sentiment and the shell.  The background stamps that I used were laying out on my work table and fit perfect for creating this fun back drop.  I think the dots are from Stampin Up's Penned and Painted set and the stripes are from their Gorgeous Grunge set.

CAS(E) this Sketch # 368 & Color Throwdown Challenge #589

This card is a combination of two challenges...a color challenge (use black gray, red and white) from the Color Throwdown team and a sketch challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch.
                
Materials used:  Stampin Up's Penned and Painted stamp set...embossing folder...aqua painter...Real Red & Smokey Slate inks...get well die sentiment

CASology #358 & Less Is More #314

"Few & Tiny" is the challenge from Less Is More and SWEETHEART is the cue card from CASology. With those things in mind I created this card...these adorable little ladybugs from Stampin Up's Penned and Painted stamp set seemed perfect for the tiny part...two of them for the few part...heart and sentiment for the sweetheart part!!  It might be super simple but I love how it turned out!!  Some times....LESS IS MORE!!
