2 Card Friday

 

Card #1 was inspired by 3 challenges...

CAS Colours & Sketches // #555 ...A clean and simple color challenge!!  Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, and Berry Burst are the colors called for in this current challenge.  I also used these colors in card #2.

Hand Stamped Sentiments // #HSS458 ...A sketch challenge!!  Color challenges pair up so nicely with sketch challenges and since this sketch was a CAS sketch it worked out perfectly to use it with the above challenge.

Addicted to CAS // #278 ...A "code word" challenge!!  STENCIL is the code word given for this current challenge.  I used a geometric stencil to fill in the background of my circle.

Card #2 was inspired by 3 challenges...

Freshly Made Sketches // #FMS677 ...A sketch challenge!!  This sketch was the starting point for my second card.  I love the trio of panels!!

Make My Monday // #MMM247 ...A technique challenge!!  For this current challenge they want us to use a die or a punch for our card.  I actually used this challenge on both card...a circle punch for the first card, and the mushroom punch & stitched rectangle dies for the second card.

Allsorts Challenge // #AC818 ...An "anything goes" challenge!!  Both cards are relately clean and simple (card #1 especially).  I used Stampin Up's Terrific Toadstools for both cards.  My inks, dies, punches and papers for both cards are from Stampin Up.

Freshly Made Sketches // #FMS676 ...A sketch challenge!!  This sketch was perfect for playing with my new seagull stamps!!  I love this sentiment and it fits me perfectly...I be loving me some French Fries!!  So, if I use this sentiment you know I really love you.  This was my hubby's birthday card!! 💝

Allsorts Challenge // #AC818 ...An "anything goes" challenge with an optional theme!!  The optional theme for this current challenge is "clean & simple"!!  I kept this card CAS, leaving lots of white space and using no embellishments...just simple stamping and layering.

Never Before Used Schtuff // #NBUS72 ...The NBUS blog doesn't give challenges but offers a great place to show off those items that have never been used...whether they are brand new (like today's item) or items that you have had for a while but haven't gotten around to using them yet.  Today I am using a new sentiment stamp from Stampin Up's Friendly Seagulls bundle that I got during their Sale-A-Bration event.  I have used the seagulls before but this is my first time using the sentiment stamp...can't just use it on any card because I really love french fries!!

New Challenge @ Shopping Our Stash #SOS542

 

Today begins a new challenge at...

Shoppping Our Stash // #SOS542 ...A "shop your stash" challenge with a theme!!  ONE IS THE LONELIST NUMBER is the theme for our new challenge that begins today...this means we want to see single layer cards.

#SOS542 // Single Layer Card

I was gifted this Stampin Up set by a design team bestie when I placed an order with her and it worked perfect for creating a single layer card and it is the newest member of my stash.  I colored in the blooms only using an aqua painter pen with Stampin Up's Night of Navy and Marina Mist inks.  There you have it...one layer, clean & simply, with basic stamping and coloring!!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge // #BBC26 ...A monthly floral challenge!!  Stampin Up's Beautiful Happy set is the perfect stamp for creating a floral card...a single stamp, colored in and finished off with a ribbon!!

Allsorts Challenge // #AC817 ...An "anything goes" challenge with an optional twist!!  Shade of Blue is the optional twist for this current challenge.  I used two shades from Stampin Up...Night of Navy & Marina Mist.

Card #2 was inspired by 3 challenges...

Sketch~N~Scrap // FEB25 ...A sketch challenge!!  This challenge offers both 2 card sketches and 2 scrapbook sketches each month.  On Feb 20th they gave us a set of 4 sketches (from past challenges) to pick from...I picked #67 as my inspiration for today's second card.

Love Those Pretty Papers // FEB25 ...A designer paper challenge!!  I used from my stash of Valentines papers that is just about used up...a much of little left over pieces that was perfect for completing the above sketch.

Simply Clean & Simple // FEB25 ...A monthly clean and simple challenge with a theme!!  LOVE//HEARTS is the theme for the month of February!!

A 2 Card Saturday

 Card #1...2 challenges inspired today's 1st card...

Jingle Bells // #JB2504 ...A year-round Christmas challenge with a theme!!  The theme for this current challenge is "a see-through element"!!  I used snowflake printed vellum for my see through element and created a shaker card using Stampin Up's Christmas Tree die from their Winter Woods bundle.

ABC Christmas // FEB25 ...A monthly Christmas challenge that follows the alphabet!!  C is for CUTE & D is for DIE CUTS.  I used this cute little mouse (from Colorado Craft Company) that is super excited for Christmas to roll back around, and a Christmas tree die cute to create my shaker card.

So sorry that my Merry Christmas sentiment in gold doesn't show up that great in my photo...to much reflecting off that glossy golden sentiment...in real life it looks great!!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge // #AHSC617

...A sketch challenge!!  I was having fun playing with my new stamps (Terrific Toadstools) from Stamping Up and ended up making this card using just one challenge.  I I kept seeing cards made with these stamps and just had to have them but I have been struggling using them...I'll keep working at it!!

Update:  Thanks to the Atlantic Hearts design team for the shout out on my mushroom card!!  What an honor to be chosen as on of the "top 3" for this sketch challenge!!

New Challenge @ Shopping Our Stash #SOS540

 

Today begins a new challenge at...

Shopping Our Stash // #SOS540 ...A "shop your stash" challenge with a theme!!  The theme for this challenge is CRAFTY REMNANT!!  What does that mean?? To use it mean to use something that is layout on you work space...you know that item that didn't get put away, left over pieces & parts, stamp sets that have stacked up or embellishments that are still laying out.  

For me, I used the torn piece and remaining 6x6 designer paper that was leftover from my "See Ya Soon" card that I made on January 25th.  Even my stamped image and mat were left over scraps that I found in my leftover paper box that sits on my desk.  You can see it HERE.

As You See It // #AYSI340 ...A "fill in the blank" challenge!!  This year my crafting resolution is __________.  My resolution is to use from my stash of designer papers!!  Today not only did I do that but I used leftovers from another card and scraps from my paper box of scraps.  Really I think I have enough paper to last until Jesus returns!!

Inspire.Create.Challenge // #ICC185 ...A clean and simple challenge.  I kept today's card clean (lot of white space and not embellishment) and simple (basic stamping and layering...nothing fancy).

Allsorts Challenge // #AC815 ...An "anything goes" challenge with an optional twist!!  The twist for this current challenge is CLOSE TO NATURE.  I did use with twist by creating all natural beach scene...no people or toys just the sand, surf, and a bird!!  I use Stampin Up's Waves of Inspiration stamp set along with their papers for creating today's card.

ABC Christmas Challenge // 11DEC24 ...An alphabet Christmas challenge!!  Y is for "your favorite color" & Z is for "Zoo Animals"!!  One of my favorite colors is red, and I love the combination of red, black and white...such a classic!!  The zoo is the only way I am ever gonna get to see penguins...so penguins seemed perfect for this Christmas card challenge.

Splitcoast Stampers // #SC1042 ...A sketch challenge!!  This sketch was perfect for showcasing multiple embossing folders and my playful penguins.  Thanks for the inspiration and being the building block for today's card.

Can You Handle The Pressure // 28DEC2024 ...An embossing challenge!!  I used 4 different embossing folders on today's card.  Each panel felt a little different kind of pressure and gave my card lots of texture.

Jingle Belles // #JB2501 ...A year round Christmas challenge with a theme!!  The theme for this current challenge is "something old & something new".  My "old" is the embossing folders and penguin stamp from Stampin' Up's Snow Place stamp set.  My "new" is the glittery stars that I used to accent my panels.

Update:  This card was chosen as a "top 3" winner over at the Can You Handle The Pressure blog!!  Yippie!!  A big thank you to the design team for the shout out on my card.

Alphabet Challenge // 04OCT24 ...An ABC challenge!!  N is for Numbers!!  How about a bingo card??  That is all about numbers correct?!?  I think this embossing folder is just the perfect background for a birthday card.

Can You Handle The Pressure // 12OCT24 ...An "anything goes" embossing challenge with an optional theme!!  I decided not use the optional theme.  Showcasing this embossing folder fit the "anything goes" part of this challenge.

Once Upon A Time // #OUAT27 ...A monthly book challenge!!  For the month of October we are being inspired by the book The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson.  I am sure most creators will design their cards by the monster but I used the mouse as my inspiration!!  Colorado Craft Company's little mouse seemed to fit the little guy on the cover.

Splitcoast Stampers // #SC1030 ...A sketch challenge!!  I loved this sketch with a pocket...perfect for using my Pocket Full Of Sunshine stamp set from Stampin Up (and the little mouse and star from Colorado Craft Company).

Try A Sketch On Tuesday // #TSOT655 ...A sketch challenge!!  This sketch was so fun that I just had to play along again.  Plus...I missed the partnering with Double Trouble on my first take on this sketch.  So, I just had to come back for a "take two".

Double Trouble Paper Challenge // #175 ...A Thing 1, Thing 2, and Thing 3 challenge!!  First of all they want us to pour a beverage and let them know what we are drinking while we are creating...me?? I am sipping on a tonic (not a gin and tonic...just a tonic)!!  Now on with the challenge...Thing 1 wants us to use a punch!! (I used several size circle punches and embossed them) Thing 2 & Thing 3 wants us to use the sketch from TSOT and then enter it in over at their blog (check...I did both).

INKspirational Challenges // #IC325 ...A "word prompt" challenge!!  The word prompt for this challenge is HEADWEAR!!  How about some top hats?!!?  I love these top hats from Stampin Up's retired Guy Greetings set...perfect for this HEADWEAR challenge!!

Alphabet Challenge // 20SEPT24 ...An ABC challenge!!  M is for Masculine!!  I picked a masculine color combo...gold and black!!  And...what gentlemen doesn't love a hat!??!

The Paper Players Challenge // #PP708 ...A sketch challenge!!  When you need a baby card and you see a sketch that you have not played along with yet, you use it for the needed baby card!!  I love this glittery designer paper that was in my box of leftover pieces of DSP...perfect for a baby card and just the right sizes for the challenge!!
