For You, Dad

Today's card is super simple...one of those under five minute cards but it is perfect for a Dad!!  I created it for the sketch challenge from Fab Friday.  The sketch this week was simple and great for a masculine card...no fluff!!

Materials used:  Stampin Up's Best Catch stamp set and matching dies...Soft Suede card stock...More Mustard card stock...Tuxedo ink




3 Gifts Challenge: (using Ann Voskamp's 1000 gifts daily prompts) a gift of cloth, steel, wood...my soft throw that I cuddle up in every morning with my coffee//boat trailer that pulls our boat to the water...looking forward to warmer weather and a chance to be on the water again//wood, wood, and more wood...this year wood doesn't seem to be a blessing...we have cut so much of it due to the hurricane!!

Another Mother's Day card made for the Paper Players challenge....to create a clean and simple card using the paper piecing technique.  Today I used Stampin Up's Beautiful You stamp set and some of their designer papers, along with a sentiment stamp from Verve to create my card.  I think this technique is super fun and creates such a eye catching look!!  While this is a fun technique you sure don't want to use it when mass producing cards...too time consuming!!  See the instructions below for this technique.

Paper Piecing Technique

1. Step 1 

   Stamp image on cardstock.

   Step 2 

   Stamp same image onto patterned paper.

   Step 3 

   Cut image pieces out of patterned paper.

   Step 4

   Adhere patterned paper pieces over the card stock image.

   Step 5 

   Finished project.

Father's Day is Coming...

Yesterday I posted a Mother's Day card and today I am posting a Father's Day card...getting ready for the Wildflower Festival this weekend where I will be selling cards.  I think by the end of the week I will have all the up coming holidays covered.  Today's card was made for the sketch challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch.

Mother's Day is Coming...

Mother's Day is coming!!  I am working on stocking my stash with both Mother's Day and Father's Day cards this week!!  Let me know if you would like to special order one.  This card was created for the sketch challenge from the As You See It blog.  Their sketches always have fun pieces and part...lots of inspiration to get your creative juices flowing.

You Can Do Anything....

Today I am playing along the the CASology challenge....the cue card...Plastic!!  I used plastic beads for froggy's belly.  I struggled coming up with a way to use this cue but in the end I really like how it turned out.

Today I am using two challenges...the color challenge (Mint, Aqua, Dark Pink and Green) from The Color Throwdown blog and the sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches.  

Stampin Up's Sale-A-Bration stamp set So Hoppy Together is just adorable!!  I kept my card very simple...just basic stamping, cutting, and layering.

You Make Life Brighter

It has been over a month since I posted a new card.  I have been traveling...3 weeks in Israel with my husband for his job and then a weekend trip to Chicago for my daughter's engagement party.  Both trips were amazing!!  But.....It is time to get back into the swing of creating.  Today's card was made for the Less is More challenge to create a card with a "light" theme, and for the Paper Players challenge to use plaids.
