2sketch4you sketch challeng

Here is my card for today's ways to use it challenge over at SCS--today we were to use purple!!

I dyed my flowers with Elegant Eggplant and sprayed them with Frost Shimmers Paint mixed with alcohol. (this is a great way to add alittle shimmer to anything--paper, flowers, ribbon, etc. All you need to do is add 1/8 of a teaspoon to 1/2 oz of alcohol and mix together in a mini spray bottle) The stamp is from a retired Stampin up set called A is for Adorable. The background was embossed using a texture plate from Stampin up.

I also used this week's sketch from 2Sketch4you. You can play along too--just check out their blog.

Another CAS card

I just love a CAS card--Clean and Simple!! The thing I like about them is the way they go together so quickly!! Perfect for a Monday morning!! I struggle to get the technique challenges for Monday done because...well it is Monday morning!! But now a simple card that I can do!!

This card has some scoring above and below the ribbon, Rose Red and Basic Gray are my color choices, little heart brads are the embellishments, and there you have it.....clean and simple!!

SCS Sketch Challenge

Today is Wednesday and that means it is time for the sketch challenge over at SCS. I love this challenge!! It is just what I need to get my mid-week juices flowing.

I tried a new thing that I learned from a YouTube site. Make your own flower soft--you gotta check it out. Here is the link to it. I only tried it without color, but I am thinking how cool it would be to add some color. I just didn't want to get all messy today--maybe another day!!

My card is pretty simple aside from the flower soft--basic stamping and sponging!! I used Sahara Sand and Night of Navy for my color combo. Both of these stamp set are from Stampin Up but they have been retired--Oriental Paintings and Garden Silhouettes.

Happy stamping to you all!!

Got my Mojo on......

It is Monday morning and yes I do have my mojo on!! I woke up this morning excited to be able to get some stamping done before the rest of my day get moving. I love this morning's sketch from Verve. It screamed Delightful and Delicious right way--must have to others as well because as I scrolled down through the examples, several of the Diva's used this set. Anyway, thanks Julee for another great challenge sketch!!

Here is the tile that I chose for my inspiration piece for today's Inspiration Challenge over at SCS. It reminded me so much of the new embossing folder that I just got.
I kept my card really simple because I felt like the tiles were designed to be clean and simple. I added no addtional embellishments. Below I showed you the new folder and the Core dinations paper that I used. I love this paper--it has a either a white center or a contrasting color center which makes it so fun to use in sanding and tearing.
I just love this new (to me anyway) embossing folder. It makes such a cute card--one that can be put together in alittle bit of no time. Great item to have for making that cards that you need in a hurry!! I am hoping to get back into my routine of stamping--I just returned from a wedding in FL. It seems like since school has started it has been one thing after another! I need my therapy!!

Two sketch challenges.......

I used the same stamp set--one I found on clearance back some time ago but have never used it. I stamped the sail boat three time for each card--once on the base, once on So Saffron, and once on Certainly Celery. I cut out the sails and layered them on the sails of the base using 3D glue dots. The first card was for Mercy's sketch and the second card was for the Mojo Monday sketch by Julee. Both cards used the color combo of So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and Choc. Chip. I used Choc. brads on the first card and Choc. pearls on the second card. The second card will be going to my nephew who just turned 3!! Happy Birthday, Sawyer!!

Mojo Monday on Thursday!?!?

It has taken me until Thursday to get my Mojo together enough to make my Mojo Monday sketch card. I was thinking that since I am not longer homeschooling that I would be freed up to do alot more stamping--go figure somehow I have less time!! I have been so crazy busy and I am not even sure doing what. I think it is time to take a step back and evaluate what I am doing!! I sure want it to be alot more stamping......

Anyway about my Mojo Card....here is the sketch for this week:
I had a hard time with this sketch--those rectangular pieces on each side that did not meet in the middle gave me fits!! I redid it a couple of time, but in the end I think I like it. I guess it wouldn't be a challenge if it did not challenge us in some way. I used Stampin Up!'s Hodge Podge hardware, Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke cardstock, and Verve stamps. The background was embossed with an embossing folder and the hardward attached with brads. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. Happy Stampin!!
