A happy hello!!! This card was inspired by the sketch challenge from the Paper Craft Crew. I picked this stamp (Happy Seasons // Retired)from Stamping Up because I had just read about the WIND challenge from CASology but as I finished it up I realized...this is not very CAS!! Why??....not a whole lot of "white" space and multiple layers!! Oh well...I'll just make a second card with this windy image!!
#bethegift challenge: Remember that jar of change you started collecting back on the 2nd of this month?? Give it away!! Find someone who needs it more than you do!! Update: So excited to see that "a happy note" was a top pick in the Paper Craft Crew Challenge!! What an honor!!
Turquoise...Black...White This color combo from the Color Throwdown challenges stumped me for a while, but I love how it turned out. The sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches was also part of the inspiration behind this card. I used Stampin Up's So Many Shells stamp set for the sentiment and the shell. The background stamps that I used were laying out on my work table and fit perfect for creating this fun back drop. I think the dots are from Stampin Up's Penned and Painted set and the stripes are from their Gorgeous Grunge set.
So....Father's Day is right around the corner! I am creating a bunch of cards so my customers have a variety to pick from. Five cards for five challenges.
Today I am playing along with two challenges. The Poppy Love color challenge (I used Sweet Sugarplum, Wild Wasabi, Real Red, and Rich Razzleberry inks from Stampin Up) from Sunday Stamps and the FREE theme challenge from Time Out. I love this retired poppy stamp from Stampin Up...it is a background stamp but I love this little cluster that you can use by itself. My birds that are flying "free" are from a Tim Holtz stamp set. Going alone with the "free" theme....how freeing it is to let go and let God!! This sentiment stamp is from Verve Stamps. #bethegift challenge: Be with people longer today!! Make eye contact! Smile longer!
SHAKE....was the word prompt for the INKspirationalchallenge. I right away thought of a shaker card and decided to include a bee....cause when one lands on you...you shake it off!! I am also using the sketch challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch. The sentiment will be placed on the inside once I decide how to use it!!
#bethegift challenge: Turn the music up loud today and dance with someone. Better yet...stand on the porch or sidewalk and dance a bit with the world.
This fun cheery card was made for two challenges....the sketch challenge from Paper Players and the photo challenge from Just Us Girls. I just love this designer paper...it makes me smile!!
Today's card is for the Inspired By challenge. I used both their photo and their sketch. These cute colorful chairs are from a retired hostess set...Stampin Up's Postage Collection. #bethegift challenge:Don't read the news today. Instead ask some people to share what's some good news happening in their life.
This first card was created for the Fusion Challenge...Enough!! I used both the sketch and the photo portions of this challenge. My sentiments seemed fitting for the enough theme..."You are awesome"!! More than enough!!
My second card was made for the Tic Tac Toe challenge. I am playing along across the bottom of the game board...wood//gray//emboss. I used my wood grain embossing folder on some Smokey Slate card stock from Stampin Up. This covered all three elements called for and added another Father's Day card to my stash. Actually it didn't get added to my stash because it already sold!! #bethegift challenge:ThanksLiving Day! Thank every single person you speak to today!
Needed a construction type Father's Day Card for a friend....no construction type stamps!! So... I had to get creative. The corner brads are about the only thing construction-ish that I had!! This color challenge (gray/yellow/white) from the Color Throwdown team seemed like a good place to start...add in the sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches and I think it will do!!
#bethegift challenge:Give the gift of the benefit of the doubt today. Believe the best in everyone today!!
Time to pull another book off the shelf!! The current book is My Naughty Little Sister by Dorthy Edwards. I love the background of colors on the cover of the book chosen for the current challenge over at The Library Challenge. I feel like I came pretty close to recreating it as the background for this lighthouse stamp from Stampin Up's Sailing Home bundle. This card definitely has "Men in Mind", which is the challenge from the Paper Players. #bethegift challenge:Be brave and take the plunge. Make that invitation to open your home and invite one person over.
The Twofer Challenge equals THREE challenges in two cards...
1. First, the Twofer Challenge...Flowers...Two different designs for two different occasions using the same stamps, stencils, and/or dies. The single leaf die from Stampin Up's Rose Garden seemed perfect for this challenge. I also used the Sprinkles of Life mini flower stamp and matching punch.
2. Second the color challenge from Just Us Girls... Green//Yellow//Pink//Orange. I used Stampin Up's Pumpkin Pie ink//Daffodil Delight ink//Blushing Bride card stock//Garden Green card stock.
3. Third, the sketch challenge from the Paper Craft Crew!! Welcome back ladies...I have missed y'all!!! Update: So excited to be a top pick of this challenge from Paper Craft Crew!!
#bethegift challenge:Compliment day!! Try to end every conversation you have today with a compliment!!
Another fun sketch challenge from the CAS(E) this Sketch team. This simple sketch has so many possibilities!! I will be fun to see all the different takes on this sketch. Today's card was also created for the CASology challenge...cue card PLANT and the Addicted to CAS challenge...code word FLOWER. #bethegift challenge:Connect with someone in your extended family today...tell them why you love them.
Today's card was inspired by the sketch challenge from As You See It and the photo challenge from Inspired By. I am on a roll using up my stash of designer paper!! One thing I have learned during this Covid-19 lock down...I can create and create from the stash I have and still have days and months worth of papers remaining!! Hazards of a paper crafter...we tend to hoard pretty papers!!
#bethegift challenge:Think of someone you could open your door to this week. Begin planning the invite.
It is time to start working on my Father's Day stash!! So....today I am using the sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches to get started!! Yesterday's designer papers that I used are just so perfect for masculine cards....that distressed look gives such a masculine feel!! #bethegift challenge:Text or call someone older than you today...let them know that they matter!!
One card...Three challenges! My inspiration for this card came from the Fab Friday sketch challenge and the Color Throwdown challenge. This color combo this week was blue, yellow, and pink. The third element of inspiration came from the Cardz 4 Guyz challenge...Vintage!! These designer papers definitely have a vintage feel. I love the vintage theme for masculine cards...but then I went and added two pink bows...that might just disqualify it as a masculine card?!? What do you think?? I can't believe it is Sunday already...this weekend flew by with not enough hours for me!!
#bethegift challenge:Do someone else's chore for them today...keep it a secret...let it make you happy!
I am married to a wonderful man and we have 2 children--a son who lives in Long Island, NY and a daughter who lives in Chicago. We live in Florida, which feels so very far away from our kids especially since we have a grand-daughter and a second grandchild on the way!! For over 20 years I was a Stampin Up Demonstrator, but in 2021 I let go of my demonstratorship. I still love scrapbooking & creating cards and have enough Stampin Up products to last me till eternity...so I will keep on creating!! Proud to be a daughter of the Most High God--who was and is and is to come!!
