Mojo Monday had another fun sketch to inspire us. Julee gives us such fun sketches!! Y'all should come play along!! Here is my take on it, using Stampin Up's By the Dock bundle. I love this bundle and have enjoyed all the different ways it can be used!! The little frog from this set is so stinking cute and wish I would have incorporated it into this card...another day!! I learned something from my upline this week....Cindy Fodor posted this fun little technique for making the cattail head brown...layer circle of brown cardstock onto your green before cutting with you die. In case you are a visual learner I have included her photo.
Here is my entry for the CASologychallenge using the cue card...TALL!! Nothing says tall like a giraffe!! Isn't she cute as a button!??! The sketch challenge from Fusion fit perfectly for this TALL challenge. I also used Fusion's photo as inspiration...grays//clean straight lines//lots of white.
My stamp was a gift and I am not sure of the brand but my designer papers are from Stampin Up and the little flower is from their retired set called Something to Say.
A color challenge along with a sketch challenge... that is the inspiration for today's card. Thanks to the Color Throwdownteam for the fun color combo...pink, aqua, kraft, and white, and CAS(E) this Sketch for another fun sketch. I left the front blank so that I could add a sentiment as needed. Maybe it will birthday, maybe thank you, maybe just a thinking of you...time will tell!! Materials used: Stampin Up's Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, and Crumb Cake inks...Lilypad Lake stamp set...Lake Side dies...miscellaneous cloud dies.
So I made a card for this challenge but sent it out before I took a picture...I tried to recreate it but it is falling short!! Can't quite remember what I did different or what is missing but here you go!! Thanks to Paper Players for another fun sketch!! Happy Stamping!! Today begins the weekend and I play to enjoy a bit of stamping now that the work week is done!!
TRUTH....You are a rock star!! Yep!! Remember that!! Created this card the day CAS(E) this Sketch posted it but I am just now getting around to posting it here and linking it up. I love this sketch. It also works perfectly for the Less Is More challenge to use MORE but keep it CAS. #bethegift challenge:Ministry of presence day! Linger with people. Ask good questions. Listen well!!
Can you have "more" and still keep it CAS?? Yep!! Here is my card for the Less Is More challenge to use more and still keep you card Clean And Simple!! How cool that the Fab Fridaysketch challenge was perfect for keeping a card CAS. Thank to these to challenges for the inspiration!! Stampin Up's....Tasty Trucks (retired), Night of Navy and Primrose Petals. Not just one cupcake but more, and more, and more!! #bethegift challenge:Reach out to someone who is broken in a way you understand.
I love any card that has to do with the beach, ocean, sea life....any nautical theme. So....the inspirational photo from Just Us Girls was perfect for me. I love the sunlight beaming through the water and tried to give that feel to my card. Stampin Up's Seaside Notions was perfect for this challenge.
Gorgeous Grunge from Stampin Up seemed like the perfect stamp set for playing along with the Paper Craft Crew challenge this week. I even used the colors called for in the sketch. #bethegift challenge:Hug someone today that would be surprised at being noticed!!
Here is another take on the sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. While spring cleaning my craft room I came across this stickers for scrapbooking...part of the Simply Scrappin product line that Stampin Up had several years ago. Back then, I was an avid scrapbooker...up until my kids graduated from high school. I haven't scrapbooks very much since then. Maybe once I start having grand babies, I'll pick it back up!!
Tic Tac Toe challenge time!! I decided to go for the middle, side to side...twine//heart//sentiment. The leaves and sentiment are from Stampin Up's Animal Outing and the giraffe was a gift from a friend (not sure which company it is from).
This week for the Global Design Project, we were to CASE one of the design team members, Charlet Mallet. Her card is gorgeous!! What does it mean to CASE??
CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit I used the scripted background and the cascade of florals flowing off the main image as my inspiration for today's card. The reason for this cactus as my focal point...the Inspired By challenge.
Card #1 made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #423 and the Paper Players challenge #478 (Woodland Critters) Using Stampin Up's Still Night stamp set and matching dies. Actually I didn't use the stamps on the the card just on the matching envelope.
Card #2 is for the Library Challenge. The book that is to be our inspiration is Groogle's Monster Valentine by Diana Murrey. For this challenge we are suppose to create a card that is inspired by the title, the cover, or the story. I picked the cover...the colors really grabbed me!! #bethegift challenge:Compliment day!! Hand out as many compliments as humanly possible today and feel the joy!!
Here is my take on the Just Us Girls challenge to use cream, gold, and black. I also used the sketch challenge from As You See It. This gold ribbon was another ribbon from one of our beautiful flower bouquets that get delivered each week to our office.
A sketch challenge and a color challenge inspired this card. The sketch challenge is from the Sunday Stamps team and the color challenge is from Color Throwdown team. The color combo this week was lime green, purple, fuchsia, and gray....my pick for these colors....Kiwi Kiss, Wisteria Wonder, Basic Gray, and for the fuchsia I used some bakers twine and ultra mini pearls. #bethegift challenge:Look for suffering today...Do one thing to show compassion!
This patchwork quilt was the perfect inspiration for a birthday card that I needed for a friend. Thanks to the Inspired By team for another fun challenge!! I just used scraped of designer papers that were laying around on my work area...punched them out with my square punch and layered them up!! All you need to finish it off is a jumbo sentiment die!! Thanks Stampin Up for providing all the tools needed for this card!!
Today I am playing along with the Twofer Challenge and also covering the Fab Friday challenge with one card and the As You See It challenge with the other card.
As You See It
Fab Friday
The Twofer challenge called for FRUIT...I used the scripted pear from a retired Stampin Up set and the stitched boarder die...in early espresso card stock on one card and stamped in kiwi kiss on the other card...one card is a thank you and the other is a birthday...one card is vertical, the other is horizontal...two very different looks from the same die and stamp!! I love this "two for one" challenge!! The two other challenges offered sketch challenges this week...both sketches were inspiring and fun!! Thanks Fab Friday & As You See It for the inspiration for these two cards.
Update:Top pick on the "Thanks" card from As you See It...what an honor!!
I am married to a wonderful man and we have 2 children--a son who lives in Long Island, NY and a daughter who lives in Chicago. We live in Florida, which feels so very far away from our kids especially since we have a grand-daughter and a second grandchild on the way!! For over 20 years I was a Stampin Up Demonstrator, but in 2021 I let go of my demonstratorship. I still love scrapbooking & creating cards and have enough Stampin Up products to last me till eternity...so I will keep on creating!! Proud to be a daughter of the Most High God--who was and is and is to come!!
