New Challenge @ CAS on Friday #304

Today begins a new challenge at...

CAS on Friday // #304 ...A clean and simple challenge with a theme!!  The theme for this new challenge that begins today is WATERCOLORING!!  I used watercolor paper and inks (Crumb Cake & Night of Navy from Stampin Up) to create a watercolor background that I then cut out using a stitched oval die.

We can't wait to see what watercolor creations you come up with.  For some additional inspiration and all the challenge details, hop on over to our blog.

Several other challenges also inspired today's card...

Color Throwdown Challenge // #ctd828 ...A color challenge!!  The colors called for in this current challenge are light brown, blue, and dark brown.

INKspirational Challenges // #IC336 ...A clean and simple challenge using ephemera, rub-on, or stickers!!  I used ephemera from a Tim Holtz field notes packet.

Allsort Challenge // #AC818 ...An "anything goes" challenge with an optional twist!!  The optional twist for this challenge is to create a clean and simple card.

Embossed, One Layer Wonder

2 challenges inspired today's card...

The Paper Players // #PP645 ...A technique challenge!!  Create a "single layer" card.  These are usually hard for me and I end up not really liking how they turn out but I love this one!!

INKspirational Challenges // #292 ...A designer's choice challenge!!  Julie is the designer who is choosing and she chose for us to "emboss our background".  After I finished stamping my images I ran the whole card front through the big shot using one of Tim Holtz's embossing folders. I decided to sponge over it so that the embossing showed up a bit better.

Update:  How exciting to notice that this card was chosen as a "top 3" over at the INKspirational challenge!!  What an honor!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #608 & Global Design Project #255

The Color Throwdown challenge this week.....
orangepinkyellow and peach!  My choices for these colors are Stampin Up's Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, and Peekaboo Peach. These colors made me think of Fall....maybe it is all the Pumpkin Spice Latte commercials!!  With Fall on my mind I pulled out my Tim Holtz leaf stamp which is perfect for the Global Design Project (#GDP255) theme challenge...Trees/Leaves!  I had fun sponging and blending these 4 colors onto this cut out leaf.

INkspirational Challlenge #211

Paint splatters...that is the challenge from INKspirational Challenges.  I had "splatters" on my mind and ended up using more of a beverage splatter.  Since it was made using Bermuda Bay ink, does the color qualify it as a paint splatter??  Regardless...even is INKspirational Challenges nixes it....I like how it turned out.  I used Stamping Up's embossing folder, Verve sentiment stamp, Tim Holtz stencil, and Stampin Up ink.

#bethegift challenge: Pick a flower! Give a flower!

#bethegift challenge:   Write a thank you note to someone who is changing your life.

2 Cards//Color Throwdown #584 & CASology #363

CARD #1:  Here is my take on the color challenge from the Color Throwdown team.
Dark green//Light green//Black

I am using a die from Stampin Up and the sentiment is from Tim Holtz.

CARD #2:  Made this card for the CASology challenge...the cue card...SKYLINE.  I had no stamps that fit the skyline theme so I printed this silhouette and used my sponge brayer and stamps to create the back ground.

#bethegift challenge:  Bake cookies and take them to your local fire department to brighten their day!

Another Sketch Saturday Card & Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #328

Loving this sketch from Sketch Saturday....used it yesterday and again today!!  I decided to make this one for my Christmas stash.  Normally this Tim Holtz sentiment is horizontal but I cut the letters apart to use it vertically.  Makes for a different and fun new look!!  This Christmas joy card also fits the challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments!!

Gifts Challenge: (using Ann Voskamp's 1000 gifts daily prompts) 3 gifts family....My hubby, he is a true blessing to me!!  This year we have added a son-in-law to the family and we couldn't be more excited and pleased!!  Our parents, so thankful for the Godly heritage they have provided for us!!

CAS(E) this Sketch #348

Here is my take on the sketch challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch.  I liked the classy simplistic look of this sketch so much that I created two Christmas cards using it.  This ribbon was on a bouquet of flowers that was delivered to our office this week...I right away claimed for some Christmas cards!!

Gifts Challenge: (using Ann Voskamp's 1000 gifts daily prompts)  3 gifts that start with N.....well?!!? This one took some thinking...for some reason I all of a sudden couldn't think of any N letter words much less things I was thankful for!!  Finally.....Night-time--rest is so good for our bodies!!  Nose--the gift of smell is usually a blessing!!  Nuts...cashews are my favorite but I love them all!!
