Retro Rubber // #rrcb209 ...A theme challenge!!  SUMMER!!  One of my favorite things about summer is being out on our boat!!  This challenge also asks that we use stamps that are over a year old.  This Martha Stewart sailboat stamp is over nine years old.

Try Stampin On Tuesday // #TSOT612 ...A sketch challenge!!  This sketch also offers a inspirational element as well...the photo has a nautical theme and I used the colors as my inspiration as well.

Addicted to CAS // #240 ...A code word challenge!!  The code word: RAINBOW COLORS!!  Not only did I use rainbow colors but I used a rainbow.

New Challenge Blog

 I found a new challenge blog to play along with...a Christmas one at that!!  ABC Christmas!!  How exciting!!  This challenge along with a sketch challenge from Sketch~N~Scrap are the inspiration for today's card.

ABC Christmas // #abcchristmaschallenge ...An alphabet challenge!!  The letter for this current challenge: L for lots of layers and/or M for mice.  I decided to use both letters and gave my card lots of layers and included a darling little mouse from Colorado Craft Company.

Sketch~N~Scrap Challenge // #SNS244 ...A sketch challenge!!  Since this sketch had lot of layers it worked perfectly for pairing up with the ABC challenge.

Sketch~N~Scrap // #SNS243 ...A sketch challenge!!  I love the duo of tags called for in this sketch.  This Friskers tag punch is the perfect size to doubling up tags on a card front.

Retro Rubber // #rrcb209 ...A retro challenge!!  A summer scene using stamps that are over a year old.  This "thank you" sentiment comes from Stampin Up's Tin of Cards set that came out in 2016...it is retro for sure!!  And this summery designer paper is definitely retro as well!!

New Challenge @ Cardz 4 Guyz

 

Today begins a new challenge at...

Cardz 4 Guyz // #C4G325 ...A masculine challenge!!  What kind of masculine card are we looking for?? A CAS card!!  That is right a clean and simple masculine card.

 This Tim Holtz leaf blueprint is perfect for making a masculine birthday card.  Even though I have the die that matches and could have layered it right up, I decided to mask the leaf and sponge in my orange and yellow inks.

New Challenge @ Sunday Stamps #SOS312

 

Today begins a new challenge at...

Sunday Stamps // #SOS312 ...A sketch challenge!!  For this challenge we have you "Going Slim".  The sketch is a simple slim line card with lots of possibilities.  It will be fun to see how this sketch inspires you. 

As often happens with me, I thought of seashells!!  So...out came my 3D Seashells embossing folder (retired from Stampin Up), along with a seashell die I had been gifted.  "Let's Shell-A-Brate"...this fun, punny sentiment worked perfectly for the sketch since it was long and thin.

Colorful Options // June 2023 ...A color challenge!!  PEACH is the color option for June.  I used Calypso Coral (card stock and Ink) & Peach Parfait (Ink and baker's twine) on my card.

As You See It // #AYSI301 ...A speed challenge!!  Create a seashell themed card in under 10 minutes!!  I almost didn't make that 10 minute cap...9 mins and 48 seconds!!  Yikes!!  Confession...the embossing background was already embossed and was in my pieces & parts box!!

Addicted to Stamps & More // #448 ...A theme challenge!!  BIRTHDAY!!  When a beachcomber friend has a birthday you make a "Shell-A-Bration" card!!  Right?!?

A Lemony Hello

Splitcoast Stampers Sketch // #SC961 ...A sketch challenge!!  I used this sketch as the starting point for today's card.  A little fussy cutting of this lemon & blossoms image for the circle element...Hello sentiment and die...and finished it off with some embellishments from my stash.

Global Design Project // #GDP399 ...A theme challenge!!  FRUITS!!  I decided to use lemons as my fruit of choice.  This is a fun set I picked up from the clearance rack at Hobby Lobby.

Color Hues // #TCH66 ...A color challenge!!  The current color combo is YELLOW & GREEN!!  A bright, springy color combo that is perfect for this lemon cluster stamp.

INKspirational Challenges // #292 ...A designers choice challenge!!  Julia chose for us to use embossed backgrounds.  This leafy embossing folder seemed like the perfect backdrop for this cluster of lemons.

Card #1 inspired by 2 challenges...

Hand Stamped Sentiments // #HSS416 ...A sketch challenge!!  This sketch was perfect for playing with these vintage newsprint papers that I have been hoarding.  I replaced the circle with a layered die cut rose.  A vintage anniversary card perfect for a 50th wedding anniversary.  Not many people make it to the 50 year mark in today's culture...a real milestone worth celebrating!!

TicTacToe Challanges // #tttc214 ...A game board challenge!!  You will find my winning three in a row down the center of this game board.  For the win I used: patterned paper, flower, enamel dots.

Card # 2 inspired by 3 challenges...

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge // #AHSC530 ...A sketch challenge!!  This sketch was the starting point for my card and I used all pieces and parts from my "extras" box.  You know...that box that holds all those things started but never finished, those larger scrap pieces worth saving, and those items that you cut out more than you needed.

Color Throwdown // #ctd748 ...A color challenge!!  Red, blue, brown, and white are the colors called for in this current challenge.  Oh and the photo has a nautical theme too...which you know I love!!

As You See It Challenge // #AYSI301 ...A speed stamping challenge!!  The challenge...make your card in under 10 minutes using seashells!!  Since this card was make completely from pieces and parts out my left over box, it was a really speedy card to glue together!!  Under 6 minutes!!  The trio of embossed panels brought back memories of my 2 year old granddaughter's last visit...she embossed a stack of card stock pieces from my stash.  She loved seeing the embossed paper come out of the big shot...I think she could have turned that crank all day!!

The Paper Players // #PP645 ...A technique challenge!!  Create a "single layer" card.  These are usually hard for me and I end up not really liking how they turn out but I love this one!!

INKspirational Challenges // #292 ...A designer's choice challenge!!  Julie is the designer who is choosing and she chose for us to "emboss our background".  After I finished stamping my images I ran the whole card front through the big shot using one of Tim Holtz's embossing folders. I decided to sponge over it so that the embossing showed up a bit better.

Update:  How exciting to notice that this card was chosen as a "top 3" over at the INKspirational challenge!!  What an honor!!

Try Stampin On Tuesday // #TSOT611 ...A sketch challenge!!  TSOS always gives us an optional twist as well...this time the twist is to use a Summer theme.  This flip flop die from Spellbinders is perfect for a summer themed card.

TGIF Challenges // #tgifc425 ...A technique challenge!!  Make a card that flips...inspired by flip flops!!  I doubled up and included both a flipping element and a pair of flip flops.  Underneath my "flip" you will find the sentiment "love you to the beach and back" from Stampin Up's Friends Are Like Seashells set.

Update:  Donna Sholtz commented on this card and suggested that I also share it over at the Double Trouble challenge blog.  So, I went and checked it out...this card does fit Thing 1 (Summer's Day) and Thing 3 (flip-flops) portions of the challenge.  Thanks, Donna, for the heads up!!

Less Is More // #LIM485 ...A color challenge!!  The color combo for this current challenge is light purple & black.  I used Stampin Up's Hightland Heather card stock, ink and Gorgeous Grape designer papers for my purple portion of the color combo.  For the black element, I used black rhinestones, card stock, and twine.
