The code word for the Addicted to CAS challenge was....FROSTY! Here is my cute little Frosty!! I love this "button" stamp set....retired from Stampin Up years ago but I just couldn't part with it!!
I overslept this morning so today's post is short and sweet!!
#bethegift challenge: Music day!! Play a great play list for the world...bonus points if you dance with someone!!
The current challenge from the "Less Is More" team is to create a single layer card that is off center. I decided that a large sentiment would work great for this challenge and chose one from my stash of Verve stamps (kinda sad they are no longer in business). I stamped is over the background stamp from Stampin Up's Beautiful Blizzard stamp sent and finished it off with stars stamped around it it. The cloudy background represents the "mountain" and the stars represent our "faith".
#bethegift challenge: Be a giver today in every way you can dream up & do with joy!!
Bummer....I got my card entries switched...yesterday and todays!! This card was created for the Color Throwdown challenge (Navy/Pink/Green) and the Fab Friday sketch challenge and should have been posted yesterday. Since it wasn't, I missed the color challenge. Oh well the sketch challenge is still open!! So....here is my take on the Fab Friday sketch challenge.
#bethegift challenge: No complaining day! Give the world the gift of zero complaining today!!
As You See It had a photo inspired challenge with a love theme this go round. You might ask how a "love" theme ends up with a sympathy sentiment on my card?!? Well a card sent at a time like this is filled with love!! Truth is the daisy and green ribbon where the real elements of my inspiration!! I used Stampin Up's Painted Harvest and Rose Wonder (for the sentiment) stamp sets...love the look of the white on black...the centers are colored in using water color pencils. These flowers may have been intended as sunflowers but I decided to exercise a bit of creative lenience.
#bethegift challenge: Be all about the ministry of presence today...Linger with people. Make eye contact. Ask heart questions.
Here is my take on the Inspired By challenge....the colors, the letters, the cluster of flowers!! I used two retired sets from Stampin Up...Bloom with Hope and Itty Bitty Banners. I love the way these little blooms look embossed in pink on vellum!!
#bethegift challenge: Give someone the gift today of writing down their name and praying a seeming impossABLE thing for them!
Today I am playing along with the challenge from the Global Design Project. The current challenge was to CASE on of their designers.
What is CASE??
CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit
I love the rainbow colors as a back drop so I used that...added in some black rhinestones...stamped my sentiment right over the rainbow. I used Stampin Up's A Big Thank You stamp set for my card.
#bethegift challenge: Give a stranger a thumbs up today!!
Fashion Fun....that is the challenge from Paper Players!! I decided a "doily dress" fit perfectly for this challenge. So...not much stamping today just some folding and layering!! A little red white and blue for the all American birthday girl!! Who knew white on white could make a white doily look cream?!!? Crazy!! Proof that white is not just white....many shades of white!!
#bethegift challenge: Be a forgiver today!! Forgive extravagantly and lavishly all day!!
Red, Purple and Pink!! I struggle putting those colors together....so....I kept it really simple!! Still not sure how I feel about it!! The crazy thing is ...I loved all the cards that the designers of this challenge over at Just Us Girls created...they did an amazing job combining these colors!
I used a retired stamp set from Stampin Up...did a little paper piecing on the row of mushrooms using purple and pink...finish it off with a splash of red in my piece of twine and a rhinestone!
#bethegift challenge: Do one thing today that is actually someone else's responsibility. Love Large.
I just love a baby card...sweetness for a bundle of sweetness!! Stampin Up's A Little Wild tag set makes the cutest baby cards. For this card I just used the front of the lion tag by cutting it in half and trimming it up. The inspiration for this card came from two challenges...the sketch challenge from Paper Craft Crew and the word challenge from INKspirational Challenges...FAUNA
#bethegift challenge: Compliment Day...hand out as many compliments as humanly possible today & feel the joy!
Here is my take on the Fusion Challenge. I feel like I gained inspiration from both the sketch and the photo. I decided on using silver paint for my stencil based on the shimmery wintery photo. The pop of red was totally an extra on my part. But the branch die from Stampin Up's Winter Woods set seemed like a perfect addition. I decided to hold off on a sentiment for this card until I was ready to send it...but I'm thinking it would make a great sympathy card!
#bethegift challenge: See all of your "to-do lists" as "to-love lists". Do everything today with great love!!
REPEAT....the cue card from the CASology challenge. I used this word a little bit differently...I cut out my little frog 6 times and my patch of grass 3 times!! That is repeating wouldn't you say?!? I then glued them together. I'm including a side view so you can see the dimension. This adorable frog and patch of grass are from the new set (By the Dock) that just arrived from Stampin Up. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from a retired Hostess set. This card also fits the word prompt challenge from Inspirational Challenges...FAUNA.
#bethegift challenge: Call, visit, text or write someone who will be surprised to hear from you.
I love combining a sketch challenge and a color challenge! That is what I am doing today...the color combo from the Color Throwdown team and a sketch challenge from the Freshly Made Sketches team. I am using the sentiment from Stampin Up's By the Dock stamp set...looking forward to using the other stamps in this set along with their matching dies. But....for today I just used one of the sentiments from this new set along with the lighthouse and birds from Stampin Up's Sailing Home set.
#bethegift challenge: Candle day...light a candle today! Let your prayers for someone fighting a hard battle be sweet!!
Here is my take on the sketch challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch I used Stampin Up's Sunshine Wishes thinlits...this heart is just so adorable!! Stay tuned...tomorrow you will see it again because of another fun challenge!!
#bethegift challenge: Love is a roof!! Be a roof...a shelter, safe place for one person today!!
Here is my take on the sketch challenge from Sunday Stamps. I feel like it is a very "loose" interpretation of the sketch since they used the word banner in the it's description. But in my defense, I saw those tiny waves when I looked at the sketch...an sketches are suppose to be our inspiration...it is what inspired me!! I used Stampin Up's Lily Pad Lake stamp set and matching dies. Maybe I will get a chance to give it another try and use the said called for banners!! Thanks for the inspiration Sunday Stamps!!
#bethegift challenge: Say one hard (small) yes today!!
What an honor to be a Visiting Librarian at the Library Challenge!! This unique challenge site has become one of my favorites!! Since I love books, reading, and libraries about as much as I love creating cards, this challenge is just perfect for me!!
The Library Challenge is a creative challenge that picks a book and then challenges participants to create a card inspired by the cover, the title, or the story. As visiting librarian I got to pick the book for this challenge...I picked an American Classic...Where the Red Fern Grows. The challenge started on Jan 5th and this is my second card...decided I wanted to use the "red fern" as my inspiration this time.
I am also playing along with the "create dimension" challenge from Just Us Girls. I gave both my base and my butterflies dimension using dimensional adhesives.
#bethegift challenge: Keep track (or lose track) of how many people you make laugh today!!
Here is my card for today...inspired by the sketch challenge from the Paper Craft Crew team and the color challenge from the Color Throwdown team. This week's color combo was...Kraft, Gold, and Green. I used Stampin Up's Winter Woods stamp set and the branch die from Seasonal Layers.
#bethegift: Hug someone today and tell them they are wonderful!!
The "Less Is More" current challenge is a color challenge...Coral and Blue. I am using Stampin Up's Sea of Textures stamp set with matching dies. This octopus stamp is one of my favorites...not sure why cause they are kinda of creepy creatures but this guy is just so stinking cute!!
#bethegift: How is your savings jar coming along? (see Jan 2nd) Who might need to be surprised at the end of the month?
