Today I am posting two cards that I have created for two different challenges.... Cardz 4 Guyz challenge....create a card that features dies. I used a "with sympathy" sentiment die along with the fish dies from Stampin Up's Catch of the Day thinlits die. This card was created for my son in law (who loves to fish) that lost his grandmother. Sympathy cards are usually all about flowers...not this time...especially since it was for a guy!!
For my second card...I am playing with the new sentiment downloads that Stampin Up is offering right now...Share Sunshine. Pages and pages of encouraging and fun sentiments relating to the situation that we find ourselves in right now...Covid-19!! "6 feet apart but still in my heart" The cost of this download is $12 and all of that is being donated to charities that are helping out during this time. I also am using the sketch challenge from Paper Playersas my inspiration. #bethegift challenge:How can you live "given" today?? Do it in hidden ways!!
Here is my take on the sketch challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch. I used washi tape and a graduation stamp set that I was gifted years ago...not even sure which company it is from. The graduation cap is from a very old Stampin Up set...I got rid of the set but kept the cap for graduation cards. #bethegift challenge: Grow a friendship today...invest in them...do something special for them.
Just Us Girls currently has a photo challenge to inspire us. The ray of sunshine is what jumped out at me. I used the Tim Holtz stencil for creating my card and Stampin Up's Sunshine wishes dies & Over The Rainbow stamp set. #bethegift challenge:Write a thank you note to someone who is changing your life.
Tic Tac Toe!! For this challenge board I am playing down the right side.... Ribbon//Rectangle//Red. I used some hemp ribbon down the side, focal image is a rectangle, and red cardstock for the embossed panel and paper piecing of his shirt. Thanks to the Tic Tac Toe team for another fun inspiring game board. Stamped images are from Stampin Up's A Good Man stamp set. #bethegift challenge:Sit with someone's brokeness today...really listen...really pray. Don't be afraid of broken things.
Here is a card that I created for the Color Throwdown challenge and the Less Is More challenge. The color combo for this week's challenge is...Navy, Yellow, Green and Kraft. I used Stampin Up's Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green and a Kraft card base. The current challenge from Less Is More...Scribbles/Drips/Splats!! Anyone else leave coffee stains around your creating table?? These circle are actual coffee drips and splats!!
ZODIAC....that is the current cue card from CASology. A black card for my base seemed fitting for this challenge. All products used on this card are from Stampin Up but they have all been retired...still worth keeping around!!
Handstamped Sentimentshad a fun photo challenge...festive with lots of balloons!! Let the birthday party begin!! For this card I used Stampin Up's Everything Amazing stamp set. #bethegift challenge:Let go of something you are carrying against someone today.
Today I am playing along with three challenges. The sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches, the color challenge from Sunday Stamps and the theme challenge from INKspirational Challenges...Paint Splatters. The Waterfront stamp set from Stampin Up was perfect for the "splatters" that were called for.
#bethegift challenge:Give the ministry of presence today...be with people, like God is with us. With-ness breaks brokeness. Yikes!! How do we do this with the quarantine in place?? I guess we will need to be creative but it is a good reminder that God is with us!!
Color challenge from Global Design Project. The colors this week are Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo, and Night of Navy. Both stamps used on this card are retired...one from Stampin Up and one from Verve.
My first entry for the Less Is More challenge ended up being MORE than LESS....so I decided to give it another try using the same technique. Stamp & Twist....stamp your image lightly and twist while holding it to the paper. I learned this at a make and take many years ago and had not remembered it or used it until Less Is More gave us the "out of focus" challenge. I also made this card is 6.5 minutes so it works for the As You See It timed challenge.
Code Word....ANIMAL! That is the challenge from Addicted to CAS. I pulled my Animal Outing bundle out and set to work. I love how adorable this card turned out!! Thanks to the Addicted to CAS team for the inspiration!! #bethegift challenge: Love the other!! Reach out with encouragement to someone who thinks/lives/is different than you.
A color challenge from Just Us Girls...Navy/Brown/Rust. My color picks for this challenge are from Stampin Up...Night of Navy/Chocolate Chip/Cajun Craze. I am also playing along with this week's Inspired By photo challenge and sketch challenge. Lots of inspiration today!!
It is time for the Twofer Card Challenge...a challenge where you create two cards for two different occasions using the same stamps, stencils and/or dies. With that in mind, we were also given the theme rain/umbrella. The only umbrella stamp I have is in Stampin Up's Beautiful You stamp set. While the focus of this stamp set has nothing to do with the theme, there does happen to be an image that includes an umbrella.
#bethegift challenge:Give in the smallest way or the largest way possible to just one charity today.
Out of Focus...that is the challenge from Less is More. I decided the stamp and twist technique was perfect for this challenge. And chalking up an embossed image always give off a little out of focus look. But honestly this card became a bit "more" than expected so I am not sure it qualifies for a "less is more" challenge. But it was the inspiration behind that card...so here it is!! #bethegift challenge:Forgive someone...genuinely!
I am a huge fan of the gray/black/red color combo!! I just had to play along again with the Color Throwdown challenge. The color combo this week also work great with the Fusion challenge. The Fusion challenge give us a picture and a sketch...the choice is yours...use one or the other or both. Today I am using both for my card.
#bethegift challenge:Today, let go of something that you have been carrying against someone else.
This card is a combination of two challenges...a color challenge (use black gray, red and white) from the Color Throwdownteam and a sketch challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch. Materials used: Stampin Up's Penned and Painted stamp set...embossing folder...aqua painter...Real Red & Smokey Slate inks...get well die sentiment
Update: What an honor to be chosen as a "favorite"!!
Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketch and the "on, in or by the sea" challenge from Cardz 4 Guyz. This card was super simple to make because I just used up some awesome designer papers from Stampin Up that I had been hoarding. The only stamping is the Happy Birthday sentiment, added some sponging around the edges and I finished off my card with a little helm embellishment.
#bethegift challenge:Fill the world with celebration colors today...give a balloon, send a card, arrange some flowers!
I am married to a wonderful man and we have 2 children--a son who lives in Long Island, NY and a daughter who lives in Chicago. We live in Florida, which feels so very far away from our kids especially since we have a grand-daughter and a second grandchild on the way!! For over 20 years I was a Stampin Up Demonstrator, but in 2021 I let go of my demonstratorship. I still love scrapbooking & creating cards and have enough Stampin Up products to last me till eternity...so I will keep on creating!! Proud to be a daughter of the Most High God--who was and is and is to come!!
