New Challenge @ Cardz 4 Guyz #C4G308

Today begins a new challenge at...

Cardz 4 Guyz // #C4G308 ...A masculine challenge!!  Our challenge for you is to make a card with poppies on it (or a remembrance theme).  At first this might sound like a great challenge...masculine card and flowers?!?  But our design team has some great examples for you!!  So hop on over to our blog and play along with us!!  We look forward to seeing your take on this challenging challenge!!

Poppies//Remembrance #C4G308

For my take on this challenge, I used poppies as an overlay on stripes of masculine colors, added some hemp for a rustic feel, and a DAD sentiment to make it all the way masculine.  I hope you take up this challenge and play along with us for the #C4G308 Poppies//Remembrance challenge.

This card was also inspired by 2 other challenges...

The Paper Players // #PP615 ...A tic-tac-toe challenge!!  My winning three in a row on this game board: masculine (dad sentiment and colors), texture (hemp), and embellishments (mini pearls).

Retro Rubber // #rrcb194 ...A theme challenge!! "It's the 90's" is the theme for this challenge using the colors teal, orange, rust, and sage.  We are also asked to use stamps over a year old.  The poppies on my card are from a background stamp that I owned before we moved to FL over eight years ago...so CHECK on that part of the challenge.  There seems to be an issue with their blog this morning and I can't attach the challenge photo but my card mirrors it.  Technical issues with their platform but here it is....

Update:
This card was chosen as a "top pick" for their challenge!!  What an honor!!  Thanks to the design team for a shout out on this card!!

Card #2 was inspired by 1 challenge...

Inspire.Create.Challenge // #ICC128 ...A color challenge!!  The colors for this challenge are Basic Black, Basic Gray, Gorgeous Grape, and Pumpkin Pie.  This color combo screams for another Halloween card but I am done with those so I decided to make it into a birthday card...I love how it turned out!!

Deb, what a great job of making the difficult theme in to a truly masculine card!

Thanks for joining us again this week at The Paper Players, Deb! You took two different challenges and combined them so well! I love the soft look of the stripes and of course, the addition of the jute. Creatively done!

Deb, your masculine card is fabulous! I love how you stamped the flowers on the stripes, and still maintained the manly vibe. The jute is a wonderful touch. Thank you for sharing with The Paper Players!

Such a fun way to play our colors, Deb! Makes for a great background for those pretty poppies - and a fun guy card to boot! Thanks so much for playing at Retro Rubber!
